Some people think the galaxy can beat the sov in most catagories.Im just curious to see what the people here think.

I think, as you say, the newer Sovereign-class would be superior in technology (and reliability) to the older Galaxy-class.  But, the Galaxy-class was built for families and diplomacy (as you also say).

Also, I love the Enterprise-D's bridge, and to me it has a more pleasant look and atmosphere than the more efficient Sovereign-class ships.  (They seem darker to me, for some reason.)  And, who can top the aura of "Ten Forward"?

I would like to see the Galaxy-class upgraded with some of the Intrepid-class's advances, like the nacelles that can be made more aerodynamic (although that may not really matter in space).

I'm with the OP. While the Sovereign is almost certainly the best in combat, it has a somewhat...aggressive air to it. The Galaxy - while kind of ugly, in my opinion - looks much friendlier.
