I didn't like DS9. It was so different than all the other shows, and part of what was different was the loss of the aspects I love in Star Trek shows and movies. I just couldn't latch on to the storyline.

No offense to anyone who likes it, of course, as I am a trekkie and I do not wish to insult any other trekkies. It just wasn't my kind of show.

Since my normal farewell would seem oddly self-serving, I shall simply say, 'good luck'.

Timmc, if anything, DS9 GAINED aspects ... and arguably improved upon the "find a problem, fix the problem, fly away" formula that made later spinoffs such as VOY and ENT seem so bland.  (Although, to be fair, ENT's 3rd season did attempt something bold and different.)

Without going into detail, you've kinda eliminated any chance of a real dialogue here.

And to just jump onto a board to say "I didn't like this" without any sort of explanation?  Well, that's a bit rude, don't you think?  Even if you do state "no offense."

I think all of us hardcore DS9 fans would appreciate some elaboration - how many episodes did you watch?  what did you like?  what did you dislike?  what do you feel is missing from DS9 that is evident in the other series?  etc.

Fair 'nuff but that doesn't really speak to the question of whether and why it should / should not be on the telly right now.

I get the impression, OtakuJo, that Timmc was simply looking for a thread where he could express his view that, hey, he didn't like DS9.  Because you know, it was lacking in "aspects."

*shaking head*

I rarely see this kind of stuff on the other boards or in regard to other series.  But for some reason, DS9 just really seems to attract this sort of rude (IMHO) behavior.

And I mean, that thread on the Movie board about a VOY flick?  The original poster stated "DS9 was stupid" without ANY kind of explanation.  As if we were all supposed to just blindly agree?!?

Usually, I just ignore this stuff.  But sometimes the ridiculousness is hard to handle.
