Will Riker assumes command of the USS Titan in a remote part of the Galaxy along with newly wed Commander Dianna Troi. This is where the movie left everything.

In such a remote part of the Galaxy starships have to be prepared and engineered for isolation duties. The saucer separation is ok to save the crew from a warp core breach... but then what? A saucer that can only do impulse speed?

The days of subwarp saucers and shuttlecraft have gone the way of the 1960's... 50 years old man gones ville... Gustavo Castillo has designed a starship for the new millennium and beyond...

I submit a New Star Trek Series based on the new Command of William T. Riker aboard an Arrogant Class starship USS Titan... along with science officer Lieutenant Commander W. Thomas  Riker both of which vy for the affections of the new bride Dianna Troi.

An oversight at Starfleet Personnel puts the three together on a starship in the far sector at the base of the galaxy for a five year mission.

Isn't "Arrogant" a generally insulting term, John? I'm not sure that would make a good name for a class of starships. It would be like having a "Douchebag" class and an "Elitist" class. Not very flattering...

I disagree with the idea that shuttlecraft all need to be warp-speed.  Some could save a lot of money, if they were constructed just for localized, nonwarp-necessity speeds.
