It's just as interesting as ever, but I see hardly any of my old pals any longer...seems like a lot of good people have moved on / given up! Vger23

I mostly lurk and leave a post from time to time. The aggressive trolling seems to have stopped. For now. It's actually kinda comforting to see that people are still griping about ST09. LOL

Vger, TrekNoir - LOL. You guys are so silly! You need to crawl out of your parents' basements. You're 34! Lol. There's still a still a chance you might get laid. I am not talking to you until then.

Take her ahead Mr Sulu, Warp factor 5.

Yes, how nice. My 5th anniversary is in 2 weeks. I have a 6 month old son. I have a career that is not only fantastic, but allows me to pursue other outside interests like coaching varsity football.

So, your post is an insulting stereotype that should turn off any scifi fan reading this board, and demonstrates just what kind of person you really are.

>Speaking as a non-Christian, I have always gotten the sense that the moral compass we see demonstrated in Star Trek--the honestly, decency, courage, unity and comraderie--seem remarkablly similar to the best possible interpretations of the teachings of Christ.  If fact, I know of many devoted Christians who seek out the various incarnations of the show specifically as a watchable alternative to the gratuitous sex and violence which pervades entertainment in general today.  Neither do they seem to be overly concerned about the occasional alien character who is depicted with a different understanding of how the universe works. For myself, I have never felt as if anything was being jammed down my throat, as the Christian philosophy unquestionably has much to be admired in it.

>As for not seeing too many familiar faces here of late, many of them are still here, quietly waiting to see just how the balance of power finally tips.  Continued tyranny by a very few sociopaths, or peaceful co-existence among well-intentioned and gregarious sci-fi fans?...you know, like the people on Star Trek do!

I think this is an extremely fair post regardless of what anyones personal beliefs are. There were certainly plenty of religious references and spiritual themes in Star Trek, just as there were atheist themes and points of view represented. I think Trek did a nice job of being respectful and balanced in this arena! And appropriately showed both points of view.

Now if only the fans could take their cues from Treks example, huh?

Hahaha. These are the threads I love to come and read!

Love all the posts. Thank you.

Surprised no one'e really brought up DS9 and its religious aspects yet. (Maybe a sister thread for the DS9 board?)

Did TOS hurt your widdle feelings because Spock quoted scripture? It's okay, show us on the doll where the bad TOS touched you. We're here to help.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Dude, you're a passive aggressive punk whining about religious references from a fictional TV show. Seriously, not only can I question your sanity but the probability that Lefty and Righty are the only bedroom companions you've ever had is at least 99.9999999999%.

If you don't believe in God then a fictional TV show should in no way affect your beliefs. And if it does bother you, tough. What are you gonna do about it? Whine on a message board? Good luck with that.

Now, feel free not to communicate with me. Your choice. But do realize you have ZERO control of the responses you will receive on a public messageboard.
