Yes so dangerous except the giant target called a mouth on the front of the thing.
|
And it was only by chance that kirk discovered this weakness in the machine. In other words if they don't know about it then it is jot a weakness. |
But it only takes like 98 megatons to kill the Doomsday machine. Besides even if they don't know about it it will not take them long to shot there anyway if their weapons don't work on the neutronium hull.

LOVE the Q idea! Brilliant!
If we have the Borg AND the Dominion on our side then its game over. You just lost your clone numbers advantage. And the "white" is not enough of a weakness.
Doomsday Machine is a good pick, but how about Nomad? Or V'ger? Hell C3PO better have humpback whale in his comm matrix or the probe from ST4 is going to flip off all of SW like a light switch.
Of course Gort could wipe both out and be home in time for lunch

Crap, I was going to mention the probe, and I can't be live that I forgot about v'ger. Btw, remind me who gort is, because I looked him up and I said he was a 23rd century lt commander.

Did he say that or are you making it up all I have been able to find is him saying cell phones are better than communicators. However Martin Cooper, the inventor of the cell phone, did state on the show How William Shatner Changed the World that he was inspired by the TOS communicators which I believe is what you were trying to say. Still given how much more cell phone can do when compaired to communicators I say the influence was small at best.

Regardless the point remains that cell phones, particularly the ones that flip open, were inspired by the tos era communicators. The fact that today's phones are more advanced then this devices is beside the point. Heck the tablets that we use today are much smaller then they were in any of the trek series, and I don't see you complaining about that.

Not really watching the episode the Constellation was just inside the machines mouth when it exploded indicating that shooting inside the mouth could work. Also one TIE Bomber can fire a proton torpedo easily into the machines large mouth as wars missiles have around 190 MT yields.

Styliscially yes functionally no. Why would I no one ever claimed that tablets were inspired by trek?

Wrong agian, i just watched that episode and it is clear that the Constellation is further inside the device then you are giving it credit for.

First why would you what?
Second i never said that they were inspired by trek, only that the ones that we use are nothing like the ones used in the trek series. stop putting words in my mouth.

Given the size difference between the two the Constellation isn't far realative to the size of the machine but it is tough to say how far it really is given that we see the ship enter from behind the constellation. It doesn't appear that far but this clip will help check 2:15. As you can clearly see the Constellation isn't far in back of the machine when it blows just a few seconds after it enters the mouth.

The look like TOS communicators but they do not function like them.
Why would I say anything about trek and tablets, I never said you made the claim that Trek inspired the creation of tablets I was just addressing you saying I wasn't complaining about the tablets in trek being larger than ones we use today.

I have to ask, are you really stupid enough to think that I would not notice that the special effect in that clip are all new and NOT THE ORIGINAL FOOTAGE that was used? In fact I find it insulting that you would even consider trying to use that footage to win an argument. I will only accept ORIGINAL FOOTAGE seen back in the 60's and up to recently.
