Then why'd she leave that cush job - after just one year! - to go back to the Enterprise?!?

If you favor fanon, then Robert April would be in that list as well.

That was established in TAS not by fan fiction.

But TAS's status in canon is questionable.

Janeway. Picard is uncofortable around young people and Kirk would have sex with any female cadet of legal age.

I voted Janeway. She's communicative, humorous, loves science, can be strict if she has too. She'd be the perfect teacher for cadets, but I think younger children would get on her nerves.

I think Sisko has shown he can be a good mentor and leader for one cadet and his officers, but I don't think he has enough patience to handle a whole class of students babbling and asking questions.

Hughes, Spock WAS promoted to Captain, though he is not in the poll, he probably should be. I believe Captain Sulu taught at the academy as well.

I vote Janeway for best teacher, she taught the Maquis to work with a Starfleet crew, taught a Borg to be human again, and saved Neelix from the crew's wrath numerous times.

Picard has all the knowledge in the galaxy but he doesn't much like kids, though he did eventually warm up to Wesley Crusher, not to mention leading a group of kids up the turbo lift shaft.

Kirk would just sleep with all his female students.

Sisko is now deceased but had he lived he'd have done a fine job, being an emissary and all he has some experience, not to mention being a parent as Hughes said earlier. And Beershark, perhaps he'd decide to teach the culinary arts at the academy, sommone has to do it, it may as well be a guy that loves what he does.

Archer would likely know a good deal about warp theory as his father was an expert on the subject and he was surrounded with the subject all his life.

Oh, and Kate Mcoy, Kirk DID have a son, he was killed by the Klingons in the movies. Hence Kirk's strong dislike of Klingons, not that he got along with them before

I say Sisko. Even though he is dramatic I think that is what would make him an interesting teacher, he wouldn't be boring. He might be inspiring with all his melodrama.

Janeway's voice would put me to sleep.

Kirk would be laid back and probably not take teaching seriously.

Picard's too stiff.

Actually, might not mind Archer...

That's a tough call between Picard and Janeway:

Janeway would do well, but Picard would only be good with college/highschool students.

I'd prefer not to teach; I do not like kids that much.

So Picard fits into my personality.
