^ Did you even listen to the lyrics? It was about overcoming adversity and never giving up. If that's not Star Trek, nothing is.

Well I'm firmly in the minority I guess. I liked it and I liked that it was different. It didn't have the "epic" feel of the other Trek series' theme songs but I enjoyed that it had lyrics and I thought it fit with the rest of the show.

I have to say I have a few vague memories of watching the animated series when I was a really young boy but I don't remember that theme song at all.

Wait a minute, I just went back and read the first post for this discussion. Country? You think that's country music? In what way, shape, or form is the theme song country? That's not country, it's not even close! I'd say it's pop music. Wow.

I think it's the best song ever.  It fits in with the rock music Cochran played in the Phoenix when he launched his warp ship in First Contact.  It's also retro, and more down to Earth, which totally fits with what Enterprise was trying to do.

I used to hate the end credits orchestral bit.  But I got it when I saw Archer going down the stairs to sign the Federation charter.

I myself would like to forget the jazzing up of the theme song in Seasons 3 and 4, which felt rushed, and would have left off Star Trek: in the title, in order to remain true to the creators' original vision.

I watched the series recently, and was totally inspired by the intro.  I almost had a heart attack when I saw the intro to the Mirror episodes, however.

Hope it's sunny where you guys are!

I'm in complete agreement with the above post.

I hated the intro at first, but now I love it, especially a nice instrumental version I heard once that should have been used instead of the end credits music (which I used to love, but now hate. Go figure).

Is it unfair to point out that this topic has probably been discussed thousands of times on message boards since Enterprise premiered?

That said, I liked it from day one. At least it was an attempt at  something different.

It grows on you.  Especially when it goes up tempo in the later seasons.  I think with this song, it goes hand in hand with the visuals.  If you can really get into the visuals, the lyrics start to make more sense.

I think, for a series that was supposed to be different and take genuine risks with the franchise, the theme song (for better or worse) was ONE of the only element thats reflected exactly that.

For that reason alone I'd give it credit.
