I don't see anyone complaining about the home owners insurance that you are required to have if you own a home or the auto insurane every must have in order to legally drive a vehicle.

Both forms of insurance will probably never be used the vehicle owner or home owner unless they have found loopholes and are scamming the system.

So why are people complaining just about Obama Care being an  unprecedented  measure when auto insurance and home owners insurance are just as  unprecedented?

Insurance  has a good and evil sign to it. The good sign is that money collected goes towards medical advancements that will one day make it no longer necessary to need medical insurance. The evil sign is that the money paid into insurance that is never used by insured is nothing more than a free payday for insurance writers and their parent companies.

I think your smart enough to understand that auto and home insurance are not the same thing as Obamacare.  There are thousands of articles explaining the differences.  Obama and his fellow tyrants are requiring people to have insurance... just because we're alive.... but it's more about control than helping anyone.  It's hurting millions of people.  If Obamacare was only about forcing us to purchase something from a private company, do you really think they need tens of thousands of pages (law & regulations) to do this?

The idea about insurance is to address risk, but medical insurance is no longer about that - it's being used for pretty much EVERY medical event.... from a simple splinter to something major.  That's why our medical costs have skyrocketed - no individual responsibilty.  (But costs of uninsured medical procedures have gone down while quality/ability has gone up.)  I don't use my home owners insurance when I replace a burned out lightbulb.  I don't use my auto insurance to fill up my gas tank.  But we're essentially doing that exact thing when using medical insurance for every little thing.  (Remember, the reason medical insurance has become so "popular" is because of government interference a few decades ago when the government decided to mandate wage freezes, so companies had to come up with other ways of recruiting and compensating employees.

And that doesn't count the millions of people that have lost their insurance directly due to Obamacare.... or pretty much the vast majority who've had their premiums (sometimes drastically) raised.... or the medical practices that can no longer practice due to the rules. (I've had one of my previous medical providers "retire" (she was only in her mid 40's) due to Obamacare.  And I just found out that another one can no longer provide service to their patients due to regulations making it impossible to schedule patients and provide care.)

Remember, in their own words, this is about pushing us towards a "single payer system".... aka socialism.

Looking at the list, what I find interesting is the number of government / semi-government type organizations doing this.

Sign of the times:

Texas Carls Jr. Restaurant Posts Closed by Obamacare Sign

This sign was posted at a recently closed Carl’s Jr. location in Carrollton, Texas.  I don't know if it's a publicity stunt or if they really closed due to Obamacare.  I do know that other business owners are considering doing the same, and some have already closed down due to government control (including Obamacare.)

I don't know much about it but you seem to be focusing on the negatives, so what are the positives that could balance this out?

What are the positive aspects to tyranny?  See... this whole thing is about government control of the citizens, so there is nothing positive that would "balance" this out.

Yeah, I probably need to do somemore research on this subject but I feel that Obama is genuinely trying to help people and may be too blind sighted to see the problems he is causing.

Again, doing a little bit of research you would find that, ironically, the individual mandate (the part of Obamacare that forces people to buy insurance from a private company or pay a fine) that conservatives are so upset about was actually proposed by Stuart Butler of the conservative Heritage Foundation in the piece "Assuring Affordable Health Care for All Americans" back in 1989 as an alternative to a single-payer system.

But yeah, socialism, tyranny, blah blah blah...

Actually, I have no doubt that Obama planned on causing these problems.  He's a very smart man with an agenda for big authoritarian government - just take a look at all of his policies.  He's on record as wanting a government controlled medical system, but the only way to do that is destroy the current one (which is the envy of the world.)  This is why people are losing their jobs, prices are increasing, medical care providers are quitting, taxes are increasing, etc.  We've seen this before in other countries (and they told us why they were doing it) - it's never worked and never will - and many people have warned against the known consequences.

People always say that that something would never happen.... yet we see many instances in history that it has indeed happened.  History repeats itself.  When people repeat the same things as before... yet say that the ramifications will be different.  Two plus two will always equal four, even though someone else will say it won't be this time.  When I teach a class, I sometimes give an example that the students think I'm taking from the current headlines..... then surprise them by showing it as something that happened in history - sometimes recent history.
