With the next book due out this summer (The Eternal Tide) , I was just wondering what you all thought of how the story line is progressing, or if you're even reading the books!

I like the way she has been developing the old storyline and adding new characters--including characters from other series--into the new story.

I've been reading the old and new Voyager novels and enjoying them. But I think it's just not Voyager without Janeway. "Children of the Storm" is OK, but Eden is not nearly as intriguing as Janeway.
If Beyer does not bring Janeway back, she'll have a whole lotta disgruntled fans, including myself. I hope the cover of the novel with Janeway's image is the official cover.

Yeah, the books are okay, but it's not the same without Janeway!

Since Voyager was the last series on TV, do you think the next series should start with the survivors of that crew?

Yes! That would actually be amazing if they brought them all back together! Especially if we got to see how they all developed and coped since their return to the Alpha Quadrant (-:

I actually find them kind of boring. So much so that I haven't yet read the last book(Children of the Storm). It's probably because Janeway and Tuvok aren't there and I really would have liked to see more of their friendship. Plus, I find Seven and Chakotay very dull now. Not to mention the whole stupid ass thing with B'Elana and the baby. Does anyone actually believe they're going to be able to keep their existence a secret?

What if they added some new characters from favorite, familiar races not on Voyager, originally? Or, some new characters like Lonnoc Kedair, the female Takarian Security Officer on the USS Aventine? I think she's really cool!

I don't like them.
Although I do find Kirsten Beyer an excellent writer, I don't like the direction of the Voyager books where Janeway is killed off and Kes, Neelix and Tuvok are missing.
If there's supposed to be a Voyager book, then it should be about the characters from the series.
If Beyer wants to add new characters, then she should create a new book series about those new characters.
The characters from the TV series are so incredible good, they can't be replaced.
Who'd let that cat in here?

I haven't gotten to the reboots yet, but I know that Captain Janeway was... made the borg queen?!?!?! I don't know that I can handle that. And then Chakotay becomes captain and the command structure moves up and everything is all out of place. I dont like the way its going.

Oops! Sorry. You are right. But, in the timeline/chronology, Voyager was the series farthest in the future, wasn't it? That was what I meant, although it came out wrong. Thanks for the correction.

I'm super-crazy-happy that Janeway's back! Eternal Tide is good. It involves the Q family. Q, the dad, is not as annoying as he usually is. Eden's out of the picture now. (correction...she will be) Yes, Chakotay is the captain and Janeway is an Admiral. But it's only natural that people have to move up anyway. I'm pleased with the way Beyer wrote Janeway's return. It was never the same without her!
