I've been wondering if the new dilithium mining feature was worth it. i've already tried it and got the limited edition environmental suit, but i'm wondering what everyone else thinks of it.

I'd say it's a little inferior to the "Emancipation" mission - this one takes ~ten minutes and can reward maybe 300 RD, whereas "Emancipation" takes around five minutes and rewards 480 RD. I'm sure it's useful in a pinch, though.

Well it depends witch you are closer to. Any way, another way to get dilithim? That is awesome!

I just got 500 D on a runthrough, so it's definitely not a waste of time. With the Mining Event going on, even better.

I don't know I mean you get like 1400 in an elite STF and that is a more fun way. I did it once and only got like 250 or so, I thought it was dull.

Besides what kind of Starship Captain has to mine for dilithium? That's a Mark I's job.

IMHO the best way to dilithium mine is not on the asteroids ... look at the reward for the PvP , PvE and exploration dailyes : you can mine about 500 D in a run on dil mining but with the other 5 ( or 6 , i don't remember ) you can farm easily around 7000 D .

Sure ! 1440 dil for every one of these missions :

War Zone Klingon Thieves* (PvE) ( 3x war zone )

Hostile Engagements against enemy champions* (PvP) ( 3x arena ground/space )

Removing enemy strongholds* (PvP) ( 3x assault/capture & hold missions )

Explore strange new worlds (exploring) ( make any explore mission )

Investigate officer report (play 3 player maked missions )

And you can make each one time a day so 1440 x 5 = around 7k D

*these names may change according to your lv

If you're a VA, you can do "Explore Strange New Worlds", "Chart the B'Tran Cluster" and "Explore the B'Tran Cluster" simultaneously for a total of 2,880 Dilithium Ore.

Well and Like OneDamnMinuteAdmiral pointed out you can sometimes get a nice sum for doing STF's. But truely there are many ways to get it. You just have to create your own. (Or follow someone else's.) But any ways. If you know the ways there are many ways to make Dilith.

Add on the three daily Deferi and the Satellite Repair, and maybe turn in some contraband.... you'll max out for the day.

Then do the Academy event and get another two large containers of dilithium.  I think I got about 15 thousand yesterday.... but can only refine part of it.)
