Star trek will live on for a very long time, and there will always be new trekkies that will fall in love with the series.

I agree. There will always be some kind of interest in Trek whether it's from the official channels or not. And most of us will pass our love of it to other generations. And the fan fic writings and films that are out there will most definitley help it live on well beyond our years.

Of course not.

Humphrey Bogart still remains my favorite actor of all time, and he died over 36 years before I was born!

Star Trek will always be a cult classic. People will always be watching, always be loving it, until (unless?) people stop passing it on and the younger generations in the far future forget or lose knowledge of it. This, however, I doubt will ever happen.
