If you want to show your support then go to: Titan could just be a like away ? people that say no and doubt it will happen you should just support them anyway not supporting makes it not happen.

Titan is a moon of Saturn or some deities in Greek mythology.

The TITANS were the generation before Zeus in the Greek pantheon. But the name was also that of Riker's ship, post-Nemesis. And a book series by Peter David.

One teensy tiny impediment to my joining the above campaign: I don't really care.

First of all, the ENT board is not the place for this thread.

Second, the facebook page shows Wil Weaton as a prospective crewman but Wesley is NOT in the books.

I'm all for a Titan series if it follows the books. It would also be impossible to do a Titan series properly unless it is animated due to a large portion of its crew being non-humanoid.

If the group properly aligns its ambitions with the state of the Titan books and can get some high profile names supporting it, so would I.

BTW, for those of you who know nothing about Titan, it is probably the best Trek series out right now except that Michael Martin is a terrible writer. The books are pure exploration and explore not only strange new worlds but also what it means to be tolerant in a diverse society.

Here are some helpful memory beta pages:

That's a point... I never realised that a Titan series would not have to follow the books at all, because they are technically "non-canon".

Still indifferent.

The question is SHOULD a series follow the books, completely disavow them, or maybe use them as a guideline?

I think the Titan series is superb as-is and it would be wise for a potential tv series to use the same characters, if not the events.  I think it would be a great idea to pick up a series where the books are curently at.

I understand Tim Russ tried to pitch a Titan comic series to CBS but they wanted nothing to do with it.  One of the writers, Geofre Thorne I think, unsuccessully pitched an animated series.  His character sketches were interesting, though not completely how I would present the crew.
