In all series, whenever the ship (station in the case of DS9) gets hit, it could even be a hit to one of the engine nacelles, something on the bridge explodes in a shower of sparks....

This applies only to TOS. But most of the time on TOS the visual special effects were really really bad looking. Even some of the aliens were really lame. A certain really fake looking Gorn from the episode Arena for one, comes to mind, LOL.

I always hated how Quark and Rom called their mother "Moogie". Great, so it's the Ferengi word for mother/mom. I still think it sounds really silly and ridiculous.
