Original, the refit and then JJ Abrams Enterprise.

The Original is always going to be the best, no matter what anyone else says

I definitely love the original, inside and out. The refit was ok, but not really anything spectacular to me. I was really impressed with the redesign in the last movie. Apparently I'm in the minority, but I thought they made it look very sleek and stylish. And I think someone mentioned how big engineering was, did you notic the shuttlebay?! I think they made the entire ship bigger in this movie. We never got to hear what the crew complement was, but I'd be willing to bet it was more than 430. Personally, I liked that engineering looked more like an engine room and less like some futuristic cubicle like it did in TOS. Not knocking the original, just saying I thought the new was more realistic.

Ahh, Kirk, my old friend. Do you know the Klingon proverb which tells us revenge is a dish that is best served cold? It's very space.

No one can deny Matt Jefferies' design is iconic and can never be matched for sheer originality, however my favourite is the refit Starship Enterprise from the movies.

She was the Enterprise I grew up with, a true beauty!

Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the drug store, but that's just peanuts to space.

I have always wondered where they ever came up with that design It's really crazy looking never seen another sci fi ship like that, granted the Millennium Falcon was an improbable design as well it looks like a blower casing from an automotive fire wall. Still the enterprise is by far the craziest looking design I can't imagine what might have inspired something like that. There's some continuity in the cylindrical lower half and the nacelles then all of a sudden this huge strut with a pair of symbols totally different shape , it's always confused me.
