Is the storyline of STO considered canon ? or non-canon ?

The relaunch coverage hasn't reached the destruction of the Hobus star yet.  There is no indication yet as what will be the cause of that event or the aftermath. 


The books have only reached as far as 2383.  Hobus explodes in 2387.  I imagine it will be awhile for the books to cover the next 4 years.

Yeah maybe there is somthing that makes the timeline diverge before even the holbis event. Who knows.
