This may be one of the most controversial episodes of the whole series. What were your thoughts on it?

My opinion: it was awesome, it was creepy, and it had some of the best music of the season. Definitely a win in my books.

A great episode. Some might argue that the Borg were already overused in Star Trek specially in Voyager, but i find the story original and totally in line with cannon.

Also kind of ties in to TNG movie First contact, I think.

Yes, how could any Trek episode (or film or video game or series of novels) featuring the Borg NOT be dubbed "original?"

Ratings grab. Pure and simple. (Sheesh, VOY stayed afloat thanks to the Borg.)

But the Borg had no place in ENT.

Anyway, on its own merits? "Regeneration" was a decent episode, but nothing special. I voted "okay."

>Which is what I meant by "it fit canon at both ends" since the Borg found at Earth's North Pole were survivors of the Borg sphere destroyed by the Enterprise-D at the end of First Contact.

Correction.

Enterprise E.............not D.

I also found this episode fun to watch, bu my problem was that I started with ENT, and so did not get the reference. Now that I do, the "creepiness" factor has gone down do me.

My bad. Right crew, wrong ship. Events happening out of temporal sequence can be confusing sometimes.

I thought it was clever, and a lot better than most other Borg episodes. I haven't seen it in a while, but I remember it being a highlight of that season.

A good episode overall but for some reason I couldn't really get into it. Possibly because Borg plotlines were never among my favourites and I don't like Zombie movies.

Great episode, and it explained several unanswered questions that were brought up in "dark frontier", such as how the Hanson's knew so much about the Borg. It also, as others have pointed out already, tied into established canon very well.

I admit it was a huge gamble, especially after the criticism that "acquisition" created with the ferengi, but unlike with that episode this gamble paid off big time.
