It's nice to see pictures being leaked out, I am sure more will surface as time goes on.

Not concerned with what locations we will see since it's only described as a space barg and after all just how much screen time will such a location have in the film? 5 minutes maybe?

it wouldn't be in Paramount's interest to post pictures of the production on it's official website...that would break Abrama shroud of secrecy...but i am sure they already know those pictures will be release some where by some one...they may or may not actually be behind such pictures and glimses.

Nice!!!

The FIRST official highly predictable negative/pessimistic reaction to the completely unknown details of the new film. It reminds me of the OUTCRY of people on this message board about the image of the Kelvin corridors (that's right, folks. You were bitching about the CORRIDORS one year before the movie was even released) on the official website at about the same time the trailer was released for the 2009 film!

Man, Trek fans are so consistent. It's very refreshing. Thank you for not disappointing me!

>I apologize if the link doesn't work, I hope it works like posting pictures.

Is that what I want in the next film?

Spock involved in argy bargy. Uhura saving the day, the Vulcan death grip?

Luckily the journalist doesn't seem to know what he's talking about so there's still hope for me.

I can't rationalize how "hope" could be there or not based on 3 or 4 pictures from a movie that won't be released for over a year.

It appears that Cumberbatch's character is human.  So we know that much.

Really? From a simple comment you're gonna jump all over me? When they said "space barge", it made me think of Khan. If it's not, then great. If it is, then I'm sure it will be well done. What ever. I enjoy all versions of Star Trek, new and old. So kindly take your nasty attitude and direct it somewhere else. Thank you.

Really?

Seriously!

From a simple comment you're gonna jump all over me?

Yes indeed!

When they said "space barge", it made me think of Khan.

This makes no sense. There's no "space barge" associated with Khan.

If it's not, then great. If it is, then I'm sure it will be well done.

And, if this were trully your attitude, there would have been no reason for your "uh oh" post to begin with...so how does that work?

What ever.

"Whatever" is only one word. Just sayin'.

I enjoy all versions of Star Trek, new and old. So kindly take your nasty attitude and direct it somewhere else. Thank you.

Nah...but I appreciate the suggestion.

LOL Dear Sir, you know how they roll! I am fully prepared for the following topics to appear until, and maybe even after, the movie is released:

1) Were space barges part of the Great Bird's vision?

2) The Abrams space barge (ASB) diverges from canon (complete with detailed graphics showing "canon" barges and fan made computer animated barges faithful to the original timeline).

3) "Who Vulcan nerve pinched the best: Quinto or Nimoy?" polls.

4) A whole mess of DammitJim tirades about Abrams being the antichrist.

5) A whole mess of posters with 2 posts to their name bemoaning the loss of humanity's goodness and hope for a brighter tomorrow because of Abrams besmirching the good name of ST.

Vger23 really needs to grow up. I'm sorry I commented on this thread. It's just when they said "space barge" it, for some reason made me think of the Botany Bay. Don't know why. Sorry for upsetting you Mr (Ms?) Vger. What ever.

I recall reading an article at what I THINK was Variety.com, or somewhere credible, not long ago, that Benecio  Del Toro-who was, genre-related, the lead in ''The Wolfman'' with Anthony Hopkins, was reported to have been considered, or cast, in the next film, perhaps as the villain. Well, I do certainly recall reading, a bit more recently, that Del Toro was off for that, but, all things supposedly equal, and him being in that photo that was referred to, maybe he was shifted into another role, or, this was shot at a time before the cast, or role change was made. I was recently thinking, and looking forward to the next movie, and musing that, as before, J.J. would keep a tight lid on the whole project. I don't think we'll see much getting out, in terms of images. Naturally, we who liked the last one would love a glimpse.

Never heard of Cumberbatch, thus, I had assumed this was a misconstruing of the name, but, in any case, I seem to be generally correct in some of my info. Leaking of a lead, regardless of whom, would be among the few things that would get out for the next film, be it now, or later.

Taking a gander at the pic itself, which, and thank you, btw, is my first seeing it, as far as within the abramstrek/st universe itself, THAT character, one could take it, given Spock's clear heavy discomfort as he is grasped hard by the throat-and as we all know, Vulcans are superior in strength to humans, even Spock, who is half-human, well, and this is just off-the-cuff, I have to speculate, that said attacker-wearing a Starfleet undertunic a la Jim in '09, might be rather a tough proverbial cookie, to get such a grip, certainly for any great length of time, on Spock...but, as said, it's merely a flash reaction. Jim certainly got some licks in with him in the first film, which I just watched agin via my DVD last week....

My speculation subroutine is on full operation, lol.....'Is this a Khan-esque genetically manipulated/Augment human. who's managed to live under the radar-but then, I'd think a decent Academy medical scan or admittance physical could pop open that little secret.... Result of exposure to heretofore unknown forces?? Well, as Spock said, to we TOS fans' delight, as he sat in the 'Jellyfish' pilot's chair...''fascinating''....we'll see. Can't see many getting Spock in literal hand for very long at all, otherwise, being human. But, in any case, this creates buzz, and most directors/producer like a little of that, as they go along, of course, relative to secrecy concerns. I'm sure this pic will end up being captioned quite a bit somewhere, lol, by we fans....Oh, and my second off-the-cuff thought was, 'Gary Mitchell redux'-not literal, but then, as I think about, it..hmmm.....I know, we know ZILCH about this, but hey, it's fun to so speculate, and, WNMHGB is a fave. I tossed out to Gary Lockwood at Vegascon two years ago my ideas on a sequel concept I've had in very brief, in conversation.

No, Servalanfan, it most definitely IS an Abramstrek black undertunic, as Jim wore for the first film. If you look very closely at his left upper chest, the 'Starfleet arrowhead' symbol IS there.....

(*Vulcan eyebrow) INDEED......I keep going back to 'shades of WNMHGB'.....Or, maybe Spock had just pulled a long shift the day before, and forgot to get a swig of Five Hour Energy, lol....
