It's sort of like a mix of TOS and TNG, modernized. Some of the characters are kind of wasted, but the overall story is great - it's a prequel to TOS, so it explains a lot of how thing got the way they are - the birth of the Federation, why the Klingons in TOS didn't have ridges, etc.
I highly recommend it, if only for the fourth season.

All about the beginning of Star Fleet and the Federation, how red alert started, the Klingons appearance, why the Romulans kept their appearance secret, the changes in the Vulcans, how people first felt about the transporter..........I like the characters, all the crew except T'Pol who is Vulcan and the doctor who is Denobulan are all human which makes it much easier to identify with them and their problems. As with each series there are good episodes, bad episodes and great episodes. It was never given the chance that the other series had but it has become my favorite in the franchise.

To me it reminds me more of TOS mixed with DS9. Becuase the series can be very dramatic like DS9. That's why I like it.

I see the DS9 qualities....it is more dramatic and there are a lot of arcs within the series. Klingon, Romulans/Andorians, Andorians, Vulcans, Xindi season 3, the Augments. That being said, there are many stand alone episodes.

That's my brothere's reason for watching ENT.
Any reason is a good reason.

Well maybe it just isn't for you and that's not a bad thing, not everyone has to like everything Trek.
Are you sure it isn't time for a colorful metaphor?

IIRC, DS9 executive producer Behr was a consultant for the 3rd season of ENT. Hence, the Xindi arc. (Which I really enjoyed!)
Anyway, I actually disliked all of the "fill in the blanks" episodes from Season 4. A lot of them felt forced, and a lot of them just didn't line up with how I'd always envisioned things. For instance, Worf's statement in "Trials and Tribble-ations?" "We don't like to talk about it."...? Yeah, that worked fine for me.
ENT was at its best, IMHO, when it gave us "NASA astronauts learning how to deal with running a warp vessel and not screwing up first contact situations." Ha. When ENT tried to insert continuity fixes? I usually tuned out.
Also, I really couldn't stand the appearances of Ferengi, Borg, etc.
I did, however, dig the Andorians. Yet unlike most folks on these boards, I really disliked the term "pinkskins." Especially when you figure that the Andorians had to have run into human Hispanics, Africans, African-Americans, Asians, etc. I mean, Starfleet isn't made up entirely of white folks!
And yes, I realize "pinkskins" is supposed to be derogatory. But it unfortunately brought to mind much more than "Hey, Shran is racist." It brought to mind "Hey, the ENT writers are kinda racist..."

What? But...that was their best episode! Why don't you like the Borg episode!?

Mitchz95, I'm not sure if you're joking around or being completely serious...
But the insertion of the Borg into ENT was merely a way to garner ratings; the Borg had no place in a pre-TOS series. (Neither did the Ferengi.) I mean, come on! And the episode itself just really didn't stand out from the pack.
Look, I'm aware there exist legions of Borg fanboys/girls that believe any episode, movie, novel, comicbook, or video game that features the Borg is "just the best ever!!!"
So again, maybe you're one of those people ... or maybe you're making fun of those people...
My opinion is that the Borg are (a) hugely overrated and (b) a ratings/sales gimmick post-FC.

I'm not a Borg-obsessed fanboy, I just thought that "Regeneration" was the best episode that featured them - it was dark, it had brilliant music, and it was actually kind of creepy for me the first time (even after seeing them all those times in Voyager). It probably was a ratings-grab, but it was still a great episode and possibly my favorite of ENT Season 2.

I found Star Trek Enterprise to be excellent, I enjoyed all season, The only disappointmnt was the last episode of the series, it left the veiwer wanting....wanting to see the creation to the Federation of Planets. They shouldn't have finished it eh way they did, The Next Generation characters had no right being there. I was very disapointed with the ending

The word "disappoinment" is a major understatement! That episode was a horrendous insult!
