Is this game worth getting invested in?

I bought Anno 2070 on steam-- my first digital download game (other than DLC).  I noticed that Star Trek Online was free.  So i tried the tutorial. It seems all right, but very combat heavy.  I also didn't like the fact that the enemy is the borg and they were so easy to kill.  If I'm going to invest a lot of time into a Star Trek game I expect that it represents the star trek world accurately.

So, is this game worth playing?  Is it worth investing my time?  Also, it says it's free up to level 50.  What happens after level 50?  Is level 50 a pretty low level overall?

I'll address each individual point:

Yes, STO is very combat heavy. The designers insist that they plan to add more "peaceful" gameplay styles in the near future, but they haven't got a lot yet.

You have no idea how accurate the Borg of endgame are. The ones in the tutorial are specifically stated to be acting strangely, and so are much easier to kill than normal.

The "real" Borg (the ones in normal gameplay) can adapt to weapons (you have to remodulate your gun when that happens), assimilate people (players and NPCs alike), and basically do everything the ones in the shows could. They do sport a new look, though - here's a screenshot:
