Wow!  Talk about revisionist history:  http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-obama-march-20130829,0,488441.story

"Since Democrats led the passage of civil rights legislation that marchers pushed for in 1963..."

But sadly, I'm sure that people who haven't actually read the Congressional record wouldn't know what really happened....

Since when did the term "liberal" get separated from the term "freedom"? When did "security" become more important than "freedom"? Who will tell you that drones over America will secure "security"? How much "freedom" will we give up for "security"?

My love for Star Trek came from it's capacity to overide "good" and "evil" simplicity. It delivered a non-religious faith in the good intent of both humans and aliens. Liberalism is that. Knowing that, in a war, both sides view themselves as the good guy, requires a level of intelligence we still rarely see in what we call the "liberal media"

And in our governmental administrations.

Star Trek gave me hope that we would grow up. Our current media and movies still glories in the hero killing the bad guy. (sigh...)

Peace, Mo

Almost a century ago, when the Proregessives got such a bad name that they had to relabel themselves.  Of course, they did it be redefining a word to mean just the opposite of it's real meaning.

And remember, this is not a political party issue - it's an ideology.  "Liberals" today are for a massive government which controls every aspect of our lives, which by definition, limits freedom.  These people are in both parties.

That's the age old conflict...  One quote attributed to Ben Franklin says, “Those who surrender freedom for security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one.”  But sadly, those ProRegressives who demand to control our lives, use fear as a tactic, explaining away their "need" to take away our rights in order to "protect" us.

“This and no other is the root from which a tyrant springs; when he first appears he is a protector.” - Plato

“There is no crueler tyranny than that which is perpetuated under the shield of law and in the name of justice.” - Charles de Montesquieu

"Necessity is the plea of every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants, it is the creed of slaves." -William Pitt, 1783.

I am probably going to open a can of worms here, but in my opinion, the MSM has become nothing more than a cheerleading squad for the administration.  There is no objectivity anymore, and definitely no more real investigative journalism anymore.  This goes for all of the typical outlets like CNN, MSNBC,  CBS, all of them.   Yes, this also includes Fox News anymore, also.  I have found that some of the foreign outlets, especially European ones seem to do more of the journalism our own media should.

Hmm... Isn't it interesting how the media didn't ask Obama about any of the problems with the Obamacare launch....

I thought about placing this in the Obamacare thread, but thought that it's really a conviction of the lamestream propoganda machine's bias:

But if I may paraphrase:  Why didn't we spot these huge Obamacare screw-ups earlier?
