Of course it would have to be Lieutenant Leslie in "Obsession". Especially since he came back in later episodes. Gotta love Eddie Paskey. : )

me neither - i'm not sure about the 'best' but for some reasons the ones that stick in my mind are the Apple, where the planet did for two or three of them via exploding rocks and poisonous plants

I wonder if they borrowed the idea from Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea?
I've been watching the second series (the first doesn't qualify since it was made in black and white) of the Irwin Allen classic and noticed it is usually the guys wearing red boiler suits who get fried and also the guys who wear red frogmen outfits!!!

'By Any Other Name'
A girl in a red dress/redshirt gets turned into a hexagonhedron thingy and then is crushed. I can't remember any other girl in the TOS crew being killed in a redshirt way. I think its safer to be a girl crew member in TOS. I remember a girl being killed in 'Deadly Years' and someone having their mouth removed and turned into a lizard in 'Charlie X'. Not many more come to mind though |
Yeah, the 'BAON' death's pretty ruthless, at least the Charlie X people had their 'injuries' reversed - all the same I remember seeing it when I was a kid and the bit where the woman lost her mouth (or actually was it her whole face?) really shocked me!

I reckon the one who was disintigrated in The Arena. He was saying something to Kirk, when he got shot with, what I think it to be, a phaser set on kill.

Ok, I have the entire original series and have watched it all a few times, but I'm not recalling this. When did Kirk beam anyone into space?
Ahh, Kirk, my old friend. Do you know the Klingon proverb which tells us revenge is a dish that is best served cold? It's very cold....in space.
