Treknoir, I'm not dictating what people should like, the OP said he needed "our advice" so I comply with his request.. THERE IS a right way to do Star Trek, following the heart of Star Trek, which is the human element, did Abrams have humanity in his movie ? if it did PLEASE point it out to me, educate me, what I got from it was an emotional guy with pointed ears in love with an Earth woman, bad aliens and everyone running around screaming, whats the purpose ?

LOL

DammitJim, it's okay. I'm here to help. I need you to show me on the doll where the bad ST09 touched you.

Treknoir, clearly your irrelevant humor is your claim to fame, in a way I find it quite cute at times...AND for the record I don't own the Star trek "Barbie Doll' that you posted, I only own action figures, I got one of those playmate 12 inch figures from JJ abrams idiotic movie for Christmas, it's Spock I think, it's in my garage COLLECTING DUST, I only collect TNG figures.

It's all in fun. You're always a gentleman when I mess with you.

It is curious how often you humans manage to obtain that which you do not want. - Spock

Will Decker was so wooden... I only liked Spock and McCoy in tmp. By the way will Christine be introduced in the new franchise ?

>To be honest and not trying to offend anyone, when I watch the old film series I always say to myself TMP didn't really happen and the series starts with Khan. The only way I can go through with it.

>Yeah, it was Sci-fi, but it had nothing of TOS that it was almost scary. My 2 cents...

>Back to the new movie, nothing about it sounded good to me, but I was wrong.

>

I think you could easily eliminatee TMP from the franchise and not lose any continuity. You might gain some by not having to explain why Kirk was grounded again.

omg, I hate that movie.  I saw it in the theatre on opening night and left all cold and empty inside.  I saw nuTrek on opening night and left excited and satisfied.

>Hold everything.

>I have seen "Star Trek 09" and... it wasn't  so bad, in fact, it wasn't bad at all to me IF viewed as AU. It isn't comparable to TOS or TNG films but that's because it didn't try to imitate those. Different, yes. But sometimes a change is for the better.

>How does it stand in light of the "classics"? Well, let's see, for me it can't be compared to them like I said before, it's not a matter of "Old vs New" just very different ideas being put into practice.

>Am I looking forward to the new movie? Yes!

>To answer my original post, no, this isn't what Gene would have done. But Gene only started it. The human adventure is onlyt beginning...

yay!  glad you liked it.
