Don't get me wrong I enjoy that I'm a commander already and I've only been playing less than a month, but I'm a commander already and I've only been playing less than a month. Now I'm not advocating that we really put forth a decades long career into a game but I think we should be made to have to do a little more than the campaigns and get promoted after every mission or two.

Does this mean that in another month or 2 I will be tired of the game?

No, there's lots to do in STO. You can do STFs (Special Task Forces), study Exploration Clusters, do PvP, and all that fun stuff. Plus there are lots of missions, so even once you hit Vice Admiral you'll still have missions to complete.

And if you do get bored, try playing a Klingon character.

The levelling used to be a lot slower, but they sped it up for some reason. I can't remember why.

Well I'm sure most want to be done with it but I think at least it should take a while to get to Admiral once you reach Captain. Yeah even though there may be lots of other stuff to do how realisitic is it for an Admiral to be running around doing it?

I have made a Klingon character but honestly Klingons bore me so with him I'll probably rarely play him too much.

It used to take longer but they quickened the ranking pace to allow more people to play the endgame material.  I agree the ranking should be slower, otherwise all those lower tier ships and abilities are a waste.

And now that there's duty officers, I don't even have to do anything to level up. I could just log in once a day, assign about 5 missions and repeat each day. I get XP without doing anything.

The 3 characters I use are maxed out but i still get on quickly twice a day just to send my duty officers on assignments so I can top off my duty skills.

I'm doing that with my Klingon to catch up with my Feddy character.

The Borg alerts and hourly events are another great way to rank up quickly.
