I've resigned myself to the fact that there's no way I will be able to get my unsolicited advice to the people in charge, so I figure I might as well just post here and see the fan opinion.
There are a number of stardate errors for TNG first season. Part of this may be because the order of the episode numbers does not follow the airdate order, but it goes beyond that. For example, "11001001" takes place on stardate 41365.9, and in that episode the Bynars state that they've repaired the damage done to the holodeck by an alien probe, which hints at "The Big Goodbye," an episode that aired a little before that. However, "The Big Goodbye" has a stardate of 41997.7, which puts it at the end of the first season.
On a more disturbing level, the events of "Skin of Evil" take place on stardate 41601.3. This is chronologically before the episodes "Angel One", "The Battle", "The Arsenal of Freedom"," and "The Big Goodbye", all of which feature Tasha Yar alive and well.
Since the process of converting the show to blu-ray involves going back to the individual film elements and putting them back together, perhaps those working on the project could go back to the individual audio elements as well (ie, separate dialogue track from music track). If so, I think it would be easy to swap stardates for a couple of episodes. Most of the time, the stardate is given in the Captain's log voice-over, and the viewer doesn't see his lips moving--there is usually a shot of the ship or something. In addition, "Captain's log, stardate 41xxx.x" is usually a separate, complete sentence from the rest of the log entry. It seems like it would be fairly easy to switch stardates around and have it not seem out of place (except for places where the captain is angry verses calm...hmm, that could be a problem).
Anyway, question is...if this turns out to be possible, do you think they should "retcon" the stardates on the first season blu-ray to make the episodes fit chronologically? This wouldn't get around other potential problems ("Home Soil" is only a day after "Coming of Age"; can they get to the terraforming planet in that time?) but it would at least fix issues like Tasha being alive after she died.
What do you think?

I've personally never followed them anyway so I don't think they need to change anything. For me it is just a better way of saying, "Captain's Log: It's tuesday," nothing more.
Are you sure it isn't time for a colorful metaphor?

Better leave it is at is, I think.
If you start fixing such things, where does it end? Improving visual quality is one thing, but altering dialogue???

I don't think they should change a thing. No one really follows the star dates anyway. If you just watch the episodes in the order they are on the DVD sets (which is the origianl broadcast order as well) everything works out fine and all the continuity is correct. Who cares what date it is.
