This is getting ridiculous...

Much like Hugh Laurie on House, Patrick Stewart carried this show. Without him, TNG may very well have floundered.

That said, I believe Brent Spiner, Levar Burton, and Michelle Forbes possess incredible acting talent as well.

(I would have also included Colm Meaney in that list, but associate him more closely with DS9.)

Wil Wheaton. It takes a special kind of talent to create a character so universally detested. Imagine the work he must have put in, trying to make every line and every little nuance as annoying as possible.

Personaly in a tie between Brent Spiner an Patrick Stewart. I love his Shakespeare, and he's amazing at captian picard. Brent plays so many different people throughout the star trek series, and he rocked every one of them.

Patrick Stewart was good, but to me the fact that Brent Spiner was able to play multiple characters in single episodes makes him just as talented. Ok, so Lore was basically Data with evil emotions, but I'm also thinking of the episode where Spiner played Data, Lore, and Dr. Soong and also (thought I'm not a big fan of the episode) Masks, where he switched back and forth between personalities almost instantaneously. And, I kind of like Brent Spiner's singing voice, being a singer myself, so I think I'd have to say he was the best actor on the show.

Ahh, Kirk, my old friend. Do you know the Klingon proverb which tells us revenge is a dish that is best served cold? It's very cold....in space.

I want to say that it's a toss up between two of my favourites (Sir Patrick Stewart and Brent Spiner) but as they have a lot of people already vying for them, I have to give a shout out to Jonathan Frakes. He's pretty fantastic. For someone who played mostly a villian in one or two episodes of a whole bunch of shows before ST:TNG I think he really brought something to Riker's character. I seriously can't imagine the show without him.
