Now that JJ Abrams altered the Original series' timeline , a new series with the original icons can be made with brand new plots. With technology now that can make for one heck of a television series.

Personally, I think a series based on the Vanguard books would be awesome. Outside of that, I think a series set in the new timeline focusing on a crew outside of the Enterprise could have a lot of cool possibilities.

I just dig Star Trek...

I am an ametuer filmmaker and my ultimate dream is to get a star trek series that I started on the air. So far I have been developing a series called Star Trek: Alpha Fleet. It focuses on a fleet, not a station or ship. I figure that the main characters all command one of these ships based on its function. For example, the head of the science division within the fleet would command the ship with the most scanning and experimenting equipment. It would be based at the turn of the century in 2396 (assuming it first airs in 4D in 2020). And would kinda hope to tie up some loose ends like "Conspiracy(TNG)". Since I do plan on a career in filmmaking it is at least possible.

Congratulations. Not an easy feat, but... You've found the premise for a Star Trek series that I would never, ever watch!

Thanks! I wasn't trying, its just i LOVE early american history and star trek and the two together I would be out of control. If it aired I would love the 'dual' episode between Burr and Hamilton. Maybe Admiral Bam Bam would watch also.

Understandable hehe -- I love early Greek history (or for that matter most history before the 18th century, and some history after... especially Classical and Medieval European.) Though I'd be more inclined to say that Star Trek spent enough time in historical America and I wouldn't mind seeing future time travelling stories (no pun intended) heading somewhere else instead. Watching a bunch of duelling politicians vapourise each other without blowing up whole cities for once, however................

I'm not keen to see a Klingon show, or any other show that focuses on a specific race for that matter. Academy series would be too much like Baby Trek or Degrassi or something. Honestly I want them to go general -- give us a solid political / historical backdrop, and a bunch of diverse and interesting characters that we have never seen before.

Oh and ideally the 2009 movie AU should be kept to the movies.

Technically the timeline wasn't altered, but I see your point.

I would personally love to see a series set in 2387, just after the hypernova that destroyed Romulus. I imagine the fallout would be extreme, and it would be fun to see Starfleet trying to stay afloat amongst all that chaos.

It should be a serialized show like DS9, but take place on a starship (perhaps an escort). I think USS Resolute would be an awesome name.

He's a spy now, so they could do a show about that.

I think if a new series is to come, Star Trek and Paramount would do well with a starship story near or slightly in the future of the last TNG movie or around when Voyager returns home. Star Trek: Enterprise had some good elements but going into a series’ past and making it look more advanced then its predecessors is what I think ultimately killed the series. My humble opinion of course. Success has been brought more from the idea of the starship exploring space and meeting new races then a starbase like DS9. It had its good points aswell, but I think it focused too much on the relationships and love lives of the characters than anything else, or at least until the dominion wars.

I would really like to see possibly a hybrid concept, take aspects of Voyager and TNG, like the quantum slip stream technology and future technology from Admiral Janeway and create a ship that uses a working version of that slip stream warp drive and have a crew start exploring the rest of the galaxy.

But I tend to agree with Vulcan1981, Paramount seem to be happy focusing on the JJ Abrahms new concept which re-kindled a wide spread fan base(myself included), so at this point i think they will be content in keeping that on the burner. But here's hoping.

The movie or pilot would be the Destiny book...and then ....

Star Trek: Destiny: With the displacement and devastation wrought by the Borg, can the Federation survive?

This would be so awsome to do!

This would make a great show.
