The response to the "folk singer" who appeared in ST:TNG is WRONG!!! Janis Joplin died in 1970. The correct answer is : Michelle Phillips, one of the "Mamas" from the "Mamas & Papas"!

I didn't see the question, but yes Michelle Phillips appeared on ST:TNG as a guest star.

According to www.imdb.com it was the episode, 'We'll Always Have Paris'

The trivia is an awesome idea, but every day I come back to the website, there is only one new question displayed before it recycles back to the beginning. What is up with that?
