I am excited and can't wait to get my mail.....6 months ago I sent 2 poems and a short fic to a fanzine  They accepted it and will be in the fanzine Legends 7. So, it 's a thrill for me to see my work in print. We don't get paid for our work, but we get a free copy. So you get to see everyone's elses wonderful art, and stories.  ...Kirk/Spock of course...Now, don't worry I won't post it. I just wanted to let you know how happy it makes me feel...I am very intimidated by all of you...you speak so well, and you True Spock, write exceptionally well.

The reason of course why we are not paid...is because Star Trek belongs to Paramount...and you can't make money without their permission...and i sincerely doubt that will ever change.

>Congrats on being published--a goal I have yet to achieve!--and thank you for your kind words about my humble scribblings.

>Believe it or not, it was NEVER my intention to intimidate you; I was merely trying to make a point.  I DO, however, have an unfortunate tendency to routinely bring an atomic pulse cannon to a thumb war.  I hope you won't let that influence you too much, and I have the distinct feeling that you won't.

>

Ah thanks True Spock...The two poems were mine and the story was mine but a friend helped me with the description of what the characters are doing...Some find it very easy, but I have such a hard time with where I want my characters to go...

When you write a story, it doesn't matter what, you need to bring the reader along...you have to explain in great detail, what their mood is, what facial expressions they are showing...your words have to be visual...so that is what my friend did for me...The dialogue is the same, but she added the rest...so when you don't have that part, it falls flat...

I am certain Peter, that if you would find a zine like i mentioned who accepts friendship stories they would certainly accept a story you would write..you know the characters well....and how they speak. Thanks again for the comment...

>Well you can't have him because ... please sit down and get a stiff drink ... I'll try and break this to you gently my dear, but I have just found out he is gay, and that is why Sarek wouldn't talk to him for years (he wanted grandchildren).

>

I suppose he gave up on any hope of having grandkids by Sybok decades ago.

Well I don't think he would have wanted touchy-feely grandkids! Imagine all those emotions - as well as just the usual teenage hormones - flying around the Sarek household! Yikes!

And really - who knows just who Sybok might have brought home! A feisty Klingon femme fatale?! An over-sexed Deltan nympho?!!

Kirk after a sex-change?!!!

Ooh yeah! "CHILDREN OF SYBOK" ~~ There's your Star Trek sitcom premise right there. Catch phrase would be, "But Grandpa....."

'Grats. Feels good, don't it?

Fanfic writers shouldn't get to the point where they can compete with Paramount, I reckon. Copyright is important and it should never be about the money.

I could maybe see Shatner singing it but not Leonard Nimoy, not his style.

Hey if he's willing to sing the Bilbo Baggins song, he's probably willing to sing just about anything.

The Touching of Two Minds
by ~slashygirl

Quote from the novelization of Star Trek: The Motion Picture by: Gene Roddenberry page 120.

Although Kirk had been dumbfounded as the others, he was pleased to note that he had recovered first and was now handling all this with some degree of command presence. But it still felt painful to be reminded so powerfully and unexpectedly of his friendship and affection for Spock-theirs had been the touching of two minds which the old poets of Spock's home planet had proclaimed as superior even to the wild physical love which affected Vulcans every seventh year during pon farr.

Hey isn't Nimoy taller than Shatner? Or did Spock shrink at Gol?

I post this, and you only look at their height?  This is epic man.  I suppose Shatner is wearing his 3 inch lifts again.
