Star Trek

I put this on the General Trek board so it wouldn't get lost among the myriad of Spock-related threads on the TOS board. Plus I'll get different opinions.

I like Spock because he is so muh like us, yet so different. He shows us how our emotions effect our decisions, and how they make 'you' you. When his emotion interferes with logic, you can tell, unlike many other characters who simply act on impulse and you don't even realize. Spock tries his best to be something he's not, and eventually (to everyones benefit) he fails. But thats when he realizes who he is, and that his failure was a good thing. So, I guess I like Spock because of his emotions.

Logic appeals to me :: grins ::  Actually I like Spock because he shows that even with Vulcans and their absoultue logic, some emotion can come out.  Unlike other Vulcans, Spock grew, evolved and even learned to embrace at least some emotion

hmm... You assume that I like Spock. Highly illogical.

But I kind of do -- he's all right. If I were to pin down any one aspect of the character it would have to be his occasional dry and pointed remarks.

What"s not to like?

I can relate to his struggle to accept who he is and to be comfortable with that "person".

Spock is so much like us, and because of that we tend to learn more about ourselves through Spock. Plus, he learns how to be himself despite what others want him to be.

For one thing, he has a nice butt.

I like him because he's intelligent, disciplined and keeps his cool.  What makes me like him even more is that human half of him pops out from time to time.

Seriously. He does. And he looks really good in jeans. Check it out next time you watch "City on the Edge of Forever".

Spock is calm and logical.  He handles crises very well.

I know you're not a dude, but....Dude!
