Did the temporal cold war open the door for ST09?

There is so much time travel in Star Trek that i seriously doubt it.

More like Picard leaving Borg in Earth's past in FC left the door open for others to use time travel resulting in TCW.

I suppose that depends on whether time travel has had major repercussions on our universe beyond the creation of alternate timelines.

We know that the Abramsverse (the new timeline seen in ST09) runs alongside the prime timeline as a new quantum reality. Such an occurance is unprecedented in Trek, as far as I know. Perhaps the fact that the 22nd century was a front for the TCW did have an effect that could cause the Abramsverse.

I voted maybe, since we don't have any way to be sure. But now that I think about it, the more I think it makes sense.

Doubtful.  The comics associated with ST09 and written by the Abrams writing team show the explosion that destroyed Romulous was due to poor mining practices, much like that of Praxis.  And other materials show that it may have been a plot from Remans.

Irregardless, I don't think there is a connection.  Read DTI: Watching the clock.  It makes complete sense of the TCW.

I never thought anyone would be able to make sense of the TCW.

Possible, but don't really care. As Janeway said, "My advice on making sense of temporal paradoxes is simple: don't even try." And we all know these paradoxes give her a headache, lol.

And in regards to the temporal prime directive, "To hell with it!"

I'm taking Janeway's advice...

It's kind of like  The Train To Morrow.....

I started on a journey about a year ago to a little town called Morrow in the state of Ohio.I've never been much of a traveler and I really didn't know that Morrow was the hardest place I'd ever try to go.

So I waent down to the station for my ticket and applied for tips regarding Morrow not expecting to beguiled. Said I, "My friend I'd like to Morrow and return no later than tomorrow for I haven't time to burn."

Said he to me, "Now let me see if I have heard you right. You'd like to go to Morrow and return tomorrow night. You should have gone to Morrow yesterday and back today, for the train that goes tomorrow is a mile upon it's way."

"If you had gone to Morrow yesterday now don't you see, you could have gone tomorrow and retutned today at three. For the train today to Morrow, if the schedule is right, today it goes to Morrow and rturns tomorrow night."

Said I, "My friend, it seems to me you're talking through your hat. There is a town called Morrow on the line now tell me that." "There is," said he, "but take from me a quiet little tip. To go from here to Morrow is a fourteen hour trip."

"The train today to mMorrow leaves today at eight thirtyfive, at half past ten tomorrow is the time it should arrive. So if from here to Morrow is a fourteen hour jump, can you go from here to Morrow and get back today, you chump?"

Said I, "I'd like to go to Morrow so can I go today and get to Morrow by tonight if there is no delay?" "Well well," said he to me, "and I've nothing more to say. Can't get antwhere tomorrow and get again today."

Said I, " I guess you know it all but kindly tell me say, how can I get to Morrow if I leave this town today?" Said he, "You can not go to Morrow any more today 'cause the train that goes to Morrow is a mile upon it's way."

I was so dissapointed, I was mad enough to swear. The train had gone to Morrow and had left me standing there. That man was right in telling me that I was a howling jay. I can not go to Morrow so I guess in town I'll stay.

The whole idea of the TCW introduced from the very first episode always felt wrong. It made the very first meeting between human and Klingons into almost of little importance when this other thing was going on. That meeting should have had a little more weight behind it I think, but that's just my opinion.

I agree with you there.  We were told the first contact between humans and Klingons led to a century of war.  Well, the first contact in Broken Bow didn't seem that bad and Archer had relations with the Klingons over the next 4 years, they clearly didn't get each other but Klingons and humans weren't blatently hostile or billigerent combatants either.

One of the many facts that lead people to believe Enterprise was just a holoprogram or from a parallel universe.
