Star Trek

Okay, so I've been eyeing up this black-and-grey STFC uniform jacket that's up for sale on eBay. You probably know the one I'm talking about, the one that zips up in front:

I believe these are the same jackets that were offered for sale here on the Star Trek site a while back. Does anyone own one of these? If so, how long ago did you buy it, and are you satisfied with your purchase? The seller indicates that these tend to run a size small. Did you find that to be the case with your jacket?

So I went ahead and purchased the STFC uniform jacket. It was $112 with shipping, and I just got it today. So far, I'd have so say I'm very pleased with my purchase.

This jacket is a huge step above the Rubie's two-piece STFC uniform that I had been using. The jacket is fully lined and seems quite well-made. The size L jacket fits just fine through the chest and shoulders. It's a bit snug in the waist, but the elastic waistband is more than able to compensate.

My one regret is that this particular costume was not made as a two-piece set, but I have a short-sleeve burgundy mock turtleneck that should work for the undershirt. The department stripe on the sleeve is also a bit darker than pictured, but these are minor, nigglging concerns.

All in all, I'd say that this is an extremely well-made, reasonably inexpensive costume that I'll be able to wear for years. I'd highly recommend this product to anyone searching for a higher-end Trek costume.

I think you could have got it cheaper at cosplaysky.  Glad you are happy with it.  i want one myself.  I debating between it and the Insurrection formal uniform.

You know, I think I saw this one on eBay as well. I liked the fact that it included the undershirt, but I didn't like the way they did the sleeves. I've bought some of their stuff before, though--specifically, an ENT jumpsuit and a TWOK ensemble. I'm happy with my purchases, but I have to tell you that since this company is based in Asia, (where the population is smaller, on average, than people in the West) their sizes tend to run a little small. If you normally take a size L shirt or jacket, consider purchasing a size XL when ordering from this vendor.
