Welcome to the greatest medical drama ever told in the 24th century! More akin to an ER or Grey's Anatomy meets Star Trek, the USS Nightingale focuses on the growth, development and interaction of those characters serving in its vast medical detachment. Essentially, we're passionate about our characters. At the moment, we're seeking writers who are interested in joining our simming community and becoming a part of and experiencing a vastly unique role-playing opportunity.

Character Positions: Because the USS Nightingale focuses its attention on the characters serving within the ships medical detachment, you'll only find open/available positions pertaining to the medical department. At the moment, there are a limited number of open/available positions listed; however, that's not to say that, if you should be interested, that a more defined/specialized position can't be made available. At the moment, the open/available positions are all very generic; however, perhaps you're interested in playing a character whose a Pediatic Surgeon or perhaps a Cardiac Care Nurse or maybe even the Emergency Departments Attending, if you're interested, merely select the Your Choice! position and indicate in the Medical Specialization field which specific/specialized position you'd like for your character to assume.

Medical Knowledge and Experience: Real world medical knowledge and/or experience is not required to join the role-playing game. Although this knowledge and/or experience is appreciated and can come in handy when writing your posts, remember that the simming community is geared more towards the development, growth and interaction of our respective characters within the setting provided. Each of us will learn and grow along with our characters and it will be with the help of each other, that we'll figure out all of the medical stuff along the way.

However a passion for writing intensely detailed and convoluted character stories (from private romances, to public spats, to medical traumas) is an absolute must! Lay every conceivable emotion on the table as we delve deep into and explore the very depths of our characters' existence and their varying interactions with one another!

The USS Nightingale's premiere mission, entitled Errand of Mercy has started as of 12-21-2011. We're still so very early in our mission that joining now would be most adventageous to those prospecting the role-playing game. With a total of six character's on board, there's plenty of room for those players seeking a very unique simming experience. Remember, real world medical knowledge and/or experience isn't by any means necessary! Current Mission: S1.M1.: Errand of Mercy

"A distress call from the Federation cargo hauler Long Haul was received earlier this morning at approximately zero-seven-thirty hours." Sam continued, eyes carefully surveying the faces before him. "The message was severely distorted, but what communications was able to decipher was that the vessel had experienced a ship-wide systematic power failure. Unfortunately, at the time of this systematic power failure, the Long Haul was in low orbit over the colony world of Zulu-II, offloading much needed supplies. Because we've been unable to establish communication with the colony, we're unsure of how badly the damage actually is... or if the colony was harmed at all. However, it's prudent, at this moment, to hope for the absolute best case scenario but to assume for and expect the very worst... that means mass casualties people and we need to prepare accordingly."

Embarking on its premiere mission, Errand of Mercy, the USS Nightingale sets off to render dire medical aid to the colony world of Zulu-II. Acting as an extension of Starfleet Medical, the Nightingale is one of the Federation's only mobile medical platform serving within the 7th Fleet, also known as Theta Fleet.

A medical-centric RPG circa 2305, we're seeking players dedicated to the development of their respective characters during an era known as the Golden Age. At the moment, the following positions are available: Ship's Surgeon, Head Nurse, Medical Officer, Surgeon, Counselor, Nurse and Your Choice! The Your Choice! crew position is designed for those applicants wishing to have their character play a specific position not currently listed on the manifest. Remember, this position must be medically oriented, but can range from a Cardiac Care Nurse to a Neuro Surgeon to an Emergency Services Attending; really, the options are limitless! Also note, real world medical knowledge and/or experience isn't necessary to participate in this RPG. Merely having a love of Star Trek and of high-quality, detail-oriented character development will only serve to benefit you, everything else we can teach you!
