I don't know...... half of me would want to, than I could prank and torture people I don't like.... think bullies, they wouldn't mess with me..... ) but then as a Q, you'd miss all of what humanity has to offer, love, emotions, exploration, seeing yourself become the best you can be, but all in all, I think I would decline.

Resistance Is Futile- Riker didn't want to become a bothersome, oddly-dressed space troll.  >v>

absolutely not.  that kind of power belongs to God and God alone.  Even in fantasy, even in fiction, my mind could never go there.  Q is entertaining enough for the show, but it has its limits.

Careful, BL, many here could interpret that as a personal insult. Imagination has nothing to do with godlike powers, ambition isn't always a good thing, and the "boring or a liar" part is completely unfounded.

I'll quote Archer on this: "Who decides what improvements are needed?"

Yes, at first I'm sure that we'd all try to use the powers for good. But pretty soon any of us would become corrupted by the power - imagine, you could do WHATEVER you wanted. Including making apes talk (but why?) traveling through time (irresponsible) or "seducing any woman you want" (kind of wrong when using godlike powers to do it).

Good question. I honestly can't say what I would do. On the one hand, I could do whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. On the other, absolute power corrupts absolutely. I guess maybe I would do it, but then, as my first act as a Q, I'd lock myself in my own private universe to play around in, so that I don't mess up the real one. Although, that would bring up the onmipotence paradox (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omnipotence_paradox).

Of course, I would the power. I begrudge Riker that he can refuse it.

With the power to be anything and go anywhere at my whim, I think I would enjoy the eternal life of a Q, I know I would cause damage though so I would have to turn it down.

The answer is an absolute yes! Perhaps absolute power does corrupt, but who cares when you're immortal and can go and do anything you want? Q didn't become some sort of dictator or anything. he just liked to have fun, even if it was at other's expense most of the time. I would travel through time and space and see all that the universe has to offer and I don't believe I'd ever get bored. If I did, I'd create a whole new galaxy or something and form it to my exact specifications and spend a few billion years playing around with it. So, yeah, I'd be a Q without question.

Ahh, Kirk, my old friend. Do you know the Klingon proverb which tells us revenge is a dish that is best served cold? It's very cold....in space.

Eh nah, I mean you would have to watch everyone you loved pass on. Eventually you would end up corrupt and alone. Doesn't sound like much fun.

q was and is amazing. and he was very human, he often behaved exactly as my 16year old daughter does when shes bored and if she had infinate power in the universe.

i don't want to live forever, nor do i want absolute power, i am already the almighty dictator in my own little local universe (its called being a mom), so i'd happily turn down the almighty power and longgevity of the q....tho i'd not mind being able to zap mine enimies into the penalty box
