The government shouldn't be throwing money at energy problems and solutions. It almost always turns out to be a waste.

The free market is the answer. I promise you, if someone figures out a way to make money producing energy from low powered nuclear reactions or harboring solar power, or whatever, it'll get done.

Infact the thing i like about this e-cat, developed by Andrea Rossi and Sergio Focardi, is they didn't ask money to government or institutions. Andrea Rossi sold his house in the US to get enough money to develop the first 1MW e-cat and soon he will deliver a new one to a private customer. Recently he said his new prototype is stable also over 600 degrees, so it will be able to be used for co-generation plants. Next winter should start to sell the first e-cats for houses (10kWt). 
We have only to wait a little bit to see if this is a fraud or is for real.
