Data would be the obvious choice, since he can compute things so fast and remember everything. But, of the non-androids, I think Riker would be the best, since he should have become a captain!

Nothing wrong with Data, but we can't have the captain socializing with the bridge crew, that just causes trouble.......

Upon reconsidering it--assuming Riker had received his long-overdue promotion to Captain--I would choose Data as my No. 1, because he would be better at personnel evaluations and routine administrative tasks that Worf. But, Worf would be my Second Officer.

Geordi would be too valuable in Engineering, and Dr. Crusher would be too valuable in Sick Bay.

Deanna Troi might be a good No. 1, but I'm not sure how well she would lead Away Teams. Ro Laren would have been a strong No. 1, but she was too treacherous.

Data would be my number 1. Number One, as in, next in command. Not season 1 Data though, at that point he just really needed more experience around humans. If he was the First Officer then, he probably wouldn't make good command decisions.

Data would be my number one from probably about season 5 and on.

If I am the Captain, I would make Data as my number one, because he is intelligence and logical (sometimes I am too emotional, so he is the right "man" to be my number one) and he can control the bridge all by himself, but there is only one flaw, his emotionless, but that makes him innocent adorable

so my choice will be Mr. Data

I think he will make a fine number one

If I was Captain I would definitely make Data my Number 1!! He's very intellectual, doesn't require rest, logical, and can compute anything technical. I would always invite him to my Ready Room =D .

what will you do with him in your ready room?
