Just a shout out to see who remembers it.  This was 10 years ago.  Elite Force was based on the Voyager series.  I was the head of the Tal Shiar clan.  We would generally take 3rd or 4th pace at the GameSpy tournaments playing capture the flag.  (X) clan usuallly won every season due to their jobs as code writers, etc but it was some of the best online gaming fun I have ever had.  I still have my [TS] T shirt, and I miss those guys!

Lets see there was (X), [SEA], [TBR] and a few others. We even merged with [TBR] for a short time when my schedule outside of the game got to hectic based on [TS] Prince Naseem's and [TS] Redleg's suggestions.

My favorite maps were the Klingon Sea Temple, and Voyager 1.

The hand held photon torpedo launcher and the arch welder were my favorite weopons.

I still play the game but there are no longer any servers for online gaming, so I play death match against bots.  Clearly not the same experience but the memories it conjurs are fond ones for sure!

Hey bro, I join TS as Erratic Dreamer for a short time.  People always said Cyblade was TS's best player but I personaly think you were the best.  The reason the (X) clan wrote code successfully is because their leader WeaponX actually worked at Raven Software and made the game.  He was let go for stalking a female intern right before Elite Force came out.  You might remember her as =EFR=BonzaiBunny.  That's how Ohmz got his hacks.  See the pattern?  All the "good" clans had hacks, therefore TS was probably the best EF clan of all time.

P.S

The servers are still up if you go through the holomatch launcher, not gamespy.

Hey Erratic!  Howya been?  Yes I think for the straight up matches we were the best!  Yea I see the pattern for sure.  I tried the holomatch launcher and couldn't find a server.  ;(~.  We had an awesome brotherhood.  I think of it often.  I will post a picture of my TS t shirt in the gallery on this site today.  I was certainly not the best, but I held my own....lol.  [TS] Price Nassem (AKA [TNA] Freedom fighter during our brief merger with [TBR] and then [TS] Rai) was my first recruit and an awesome leader after I just couldn't do it anymore.

I've got a port of Elite Force on my computer.  It's a pretty good game and I particularly like the death match.

This was a great game - i loved the fact that it included the 'Mirror Mirror' enterprise in the singleplayer game.

There were also some great TOS mods developed for it, where you could have botmatches against all kinds of characters from the original series, complete with all the weapons and sounds, and on the Enterprise, a Starbase etc - hours of fun!!

I loved Elite Force, I managed to find a copy for $1 just a couple of years after release and played it a lot. I would love to find a copy of Ritual Entertainment's Elite Force II, but it seems to be long out of print.

I wonder if Bethesda still have the Star Trek license (after their mediocre Star Trek Encounters, Conquest and Legacy back in 2007). Now when they've acquired both Id Software and Splash Damage, and having close ties with Obsidian, I'd think they have the perfect crew to make a new Elite Force game.

Back to the original Elite Force, I remember randomly connecting to a role playing server, really confused about what to do there. Someone who was a federation character like me started shooting at me, and got really angry when I fired back. I have no idea about what it was all about and disconnected.

I stink at first person shooters, but I enjoy the game.

Thaks. I might download that and have a go for old times' sake - used to be pretty good at FPS,  suspect my reaction times might be off a bit now, but still...

That was just too perfect. I really wish there was a mirror ep in the series, but this reall made up for it no end.

I remember it well. I still love it - it has real replay value. I still look at it in awe at its timeless quality. Although I wasn't a fan of Raven's "Enemy, 2 Enemies, Boss, next level method. It felt a bit cliché. The storyline more than made up for it though. The same is true for EFII.

True, I've always hated boss fights anyway, and the big dragon type bosses in STEF just made no sense, but Raven are hardly alone in that, and many games still follow that format, Prey for example.

As you say STEF still had a lot of great touches.

From what I've heard. It sucks that I've never played this game.

This still remains to be my favorite game.  Period.  Granted, some things didn't make sense like giant monster boss, but it was still extremely good and worth replay any day.  About twice a year, I'll break it out and play it to finish the game.  Still my favorite over STEF 2.

I wouldn't mind playing against someone in the holodeck.  lol

I really enjoyed this game made me feel like I was participating in an episode of Voyager, a strange episode.

Are you sure it isn't time for a colorful metaphor?
