Since everyone is protesting something in the world today, why not have our own sit in?  Annoyed that you keep getting errors when you post?  Tired of trolls returning time after time?  Wondering why all your good ideas you’ve posted in the “New Ideas” thread haven’t been considered?  Dejected that the new movie got pushed back and you have few quality Trek products to blow your unemployment check on?  Needing a place to post pictures of soccer moms and trekkie wymin?  Here’s the place for you, my friend.  A place to organize.

Come, share your displeasure with your fellow fans and members.  Tell us what this site and franchise needs to do.  Share some good tunes, maybe.  Make your voice heard by getting more voices behind you.   All are welcome.  Just no Federation flag burning, flaming others, or forming the Maquis and the admins won’t have to get out the pepper spray.

Well, those aren't duals of mine. Clones or transporter accident perhaps? Lets just call one of them Levi Russell. No Levi, no joining the Maquis. Here, let me introduce you to some ex girlfriends of ours.

Yea... I see duplicates in the list of logged on users all the time.  And then the list often doesn't show everyone that actually is logged on.

It's been doing that as long as I've been here. There are a few technical glitches that have been ongoing, that we've reported, and rarely do we get inside commentary about. The admins responded to one of my ideas of having an update thread where they can post what they've done to communicate that they are actively working on the site but they only ever left one comment there.

I think that is my biggest problem is lack of communication. I could accept problems and glitches better if I knew they were being looked at and regular postings are made detailing what is being tried so we know fixes are being attempted. Heck, we have some smart members here that if they knew what problems there are and what is being done they could make helpful contributions to the solution.

And how about some improvements instead of just maintaining the status quo? There are some great suggestions in the new idea thread. Fans/members want to see this franchise and site succeed. How about seeing the site show similar enthusiasm?

And I'm sure that some of us here are even willing to help... especially those of us with technical backgrounds.

We should also deal with the "Resource Not Found" error that occurs from time to time when trying to post a reply.

And the poll threads that don't show posts.

And the fact that banned members and trolls are not IP banned, and as a result they are able to sign up under different names and come back again and again to harrass, hurt and humiliate decent people.

We're putting together a good list of grievances here.  Ones we've been trying to get addressed with the admins for a long time but have been over-looked.  i wonder, how many hours in a week are given to st.com to keep it running properly?

Ooohh, should we bring up a PM function again?

>My grievance? The admins need to reevaluate who their "enemies" are and put a little more care into this site, even if st.com isn't the only board they handle.

>They need to stop believing propaganda fed to them and deal with facts. For instance, debunked myth #1: I do NOT want to see this site brought down, destroyed, or any other fanciful term a certain troll wishes to use. The members at my boards for the most part, including me, have one desire - to eventually return here to startrek.com's boards to be productive members once again, without having to worry about admin prejudice or wondering if trolls are using an army of duals to get them banned just for fun. There's reasons why there used to be at least 20 members logged in at any given time here at st.com...now it's a good minute if there's more than five.

>There are people who care about this site, to whom this place wouldn't just be part of the job. The only problem? Most of the people who care have been pushed out the airlock. It started when CBS dumped the original team that started the site...and it's since moved on to CBS's representatives dumping the membership.

I quote this so that his words remain so long as I am here. I encourage Starbase's other friends to do so as well.

I know your words are true Starbase, as do many members who have been here much longer than me and consider you a good friend and fan.  Hopefully the mess this site is in will be cleaned up and it can once again be the center of trek on the internet it should be.

There is a difference between anarchists and those who want to genuinely do good for the good of the people.  Both should not be labelled as trouble-makers and treated intolerantly

This site should run over with trek essence in its visuals, the experience, and in the ideals of those who run it.  This makes the site welcoming to fans and makes them want to be a part of the franchise.  Customer service seems to be a thing of the past yet it stimulates customer and brand loyalty more than anything.  By being good to fans and members, this site can generate enthusiasm and revenue for Trek and CBS; the operators of this site should know this and act accordingly.

*looks at name and at sig*

Wow,,,original. It's literally been years since someone tried to spoof me here. The targ avi is cute. That you, Scoob?

I figured it must be him.  Well, they say imitation is a form of flattery.

Watch him now take W, X, Y, and Z, etc.

See, just like the protests around the world, you can't do a good thing without some fringe elements slipping in.

Well, let's just ignore Somerled, Scooby and all their many personalities and multiples in this thread so as not to let them disrupt the point of this thread.  They are trying to cause disruption, don't let them.  They can do and say whatever they want on the butt boards, none of us even go there or know where it is.

Here, we are friendly, welcoming, and want only good things to happen on this site.
