>I must admit that Data is problematic, for INSURRECTION.

>To those new to TNG, certainly at the time, can just you imagine all
the confusion? Here's this albino named Dana with slicked-back hair
who's terrorizing a small village. Then he sings a horrible song with his
friends trying to stop him in a space shuttle, with him still acting up ...

>Then, later on ... it's revealed that he's actually bionic, or maybe is a cyborg,
or something, because he has robotic parts. Apparently, he's like Doc Oc, in
that the implants made him crazy, or something, when he got wounded. Now,
instead of getting punished after he's caught, everything's all fine, somehow.

>The worst though, is when Dana the Bionic Albino starts stalking a pale, young boy,
who's obviously creeped out by him. Instead of Dana's bald boss calling him on it,
he blames it on the kid's dad being Amish. So, this middle-aged Albino pulls a
Whacko Jacko and starts playing with the kid, like ... every chance he gets, now.

>Were I new to TNG, none of this would sit very well with me, I have to admit.

Frakes, as always...you have a fascinating way of putting certain things into perspective.

Thank you, sir. It's just to illustrate further,
what you, yourself have advocated - that
making a STAR TREK movie that's just
"for the fans" does not necessarily go
hand-in-hand with success, or even a
quality product.

Oh, you know what that was all about with
Data in INSURRECTION ... it's so obvious!
Do I? Is it, really? There's a lot of room for
interpretation and confusion. Informed fans,
purists and those on the inside tend to forget
little things like that ...

>I really do not like Nemesis... but The Motion Picture is a real snooze fest. Twice I tried to watch it, once with my best friend and once alone... and I fell asleep both times before the movie was through. No joke, and I NEVER fall asleep during movies.

>Some of those scenes are just WAY too long.

The very same thing happens to me. The only way to watch that snooze fest is to break it up into parts. I watched it in three parts and enjoyed it much better and did  not fall asleep

The 2009 film is my least favorite but of these films listed I would go with The Final Frontier. TFF was released two months before my 13th birthday and I really enjoyed it as a kid bad as I  grew older and learned more about film, I really began to see how bad this movie truly is. I think the storylike shows total disrespect for the characters and that much of the humor is at the expense of the characters. Why would Star Fleet allow the Enterprise-A to leave Spacedock if she were really suffering from so many technical difficulties? Sybock is also a problem as a charactrer because midway through the film he switches from being the villian to a good guy. The only thing about TFF that I like is Jerry Goldsmith's score.
