I would like to see something dealing with the aftermath of the war with the Dominion.  The quadrant is destabilized.  Minor powers are trying to expand.  Major powers are trying to restore their former power (although it would be a nice change of pace to not have yet another series of Ridge Trek obsessing over the Klingons).  Some of the Federation races (yeah, let's actually see some of them) are considering secession.  Maybe we could see the Romulans moving more toward friendly relations with the UFP considering the cooperation against the Dominion and the incident in Nemesis (hopefully without dwelling on the less enjoyable details of that movie).  The new ship could have an extra large shuttle bay to accomodate some runabouts.

First why must we assume that the new series must always have a human captain? There are many species in the Fed. let us have a alien captain this time, I would say an Andorian only because i was really interested in learning more about them when ENT was on but of course didn't last long. Let us also have a adopted Ferangii who was rasied by klingons only beacuse this would be unnatural and would make an interesting character choice - it would also be interesting if he found the sword of Kahless that Worf let go in space, The Ferangii would bring the sword home to the Empire and fullfill the prophecy which would cause a huge problem in the Empire which would be great for story background for that character. A great tatical officer would be a reptillian from the Xentari from ENT.

As with everyone else I believe the show should be set after DS9 and Voyager. Relations with the Dominion are sketchy, also with the help of Nelixes people a galactic bridge has been connected to the Delta quadrant and relations with that area have been going well. At some point in time two things need to be answered in the series from the TNG series. How well is Wesley Crusher doing with the Travelers teachings and finding out how to reach the Beta quadrant and stopping a new invasion of them slugs that tried to envade Starfleet. Remember the queen sent a signal out to the Beta quadrant at the end of that episode. The new crew will meet many new species in the Beta quadrant who have been taken over and used by the slugs or are fighting them. That is one senerio. Another could be having a crew made up of highly trained officers from various worlds who patrol Federation Space and other areas as some form of a Galagtic Ranger Core (Cops). Would be interesting watching them collide with various species putting criminals away and finding out there is a new enemy emerging and threatening the Federation but no one seems to know who they actually are. Another words another war is on the way with a new species. Another idea is having Q travel around grabbing officers from various shows and making them into a Black Ops crew telling them a huge event is coming that will change everytihing in the galaxy and that he is just giving them a head start on preparing to stop it. Again a new enemy, a new war, but they have to secretly go around and help the Fed. and others without letting anyone especially the Fed. know who they really are. They could call the show Star Trek: Nightwing. Anyways that is just a few ideas LOL! Peace!

The thing with the Romulans makes sense.  Since Balance of Terror, we saw that they were not all just warmongering goons, then with Unification, we saw that many of the civilians wanted to reunite with the Vulcans, a Federation race.  Even with their xenophobic government policies, it makes more sense than the ridgeheads.

If they did go back to dealing with the EMH issue, I wonder if it would just be 1 or 2 episodes, or something where they decided to being them back into service with the choice of profession/programming.  They could easily justify using a different actor by stating that they got to pick new looks as part of their freedom & individuality.  If the entire ship with was equipped with holoprojectors along with the shuttles/runabouts, a holographic officer would be able to move around quite a bit.

I don't believe anyone had yet gotten hung up on the idea that the captain had to be Human, although it is a pretty safe bet that he/she would be Human.  I could go along with the idea of an Andorian captain, but I doubt they would go with a non-Human captain.  I doubt that there would be many Ferengi in StarFleet unless a long time has gone by.  If they do much with the Ferengi, I think it should go back to showing ships that TNG established & DS9 completely ignored.  Perhaps a splinter group of Ferengi going back to my previous post trying to take advantage of the unstable situation.  The Wesley issue would turn quite a few fans away.  I wouldn't mind seeing Q in a few episodes, but I don't think a series based on his meddling would go over well.

I think it's pretty clear that Kirk was "with" a lot of girls. It doesn't seem logical that Carol Marcus is the only one that ever got pregnant. Actually we know she wasn't. There was Miramanee, but she doesn't really count because she died. Anyway, getting to the point. What if one of these chicks had a son, and he joins Starfleet. And by some great cosmic coincidence he was the spitting image of Jim Kirk. So much so that one of his instructors at the Academy does a major double take and almost faints when he walks into her class. And everybody is always comparing him to the father that he never knew. So he's trying to stand out as an individual and acquire his own reputation, and still honor this terriffic guy that's his favorite role model and that he's got the good luck to be related to. Maybe the idea is a little soap-opera-y, but it could be cool-ish.

I find a time machine in my garden. I step in it and find myself in the future in a space station in an unknown part of the galaxy. Also there, brought by the same time machine, are Seven of Nine, Kes, the Delaney sisters, T'Pol, Hoshi Sato, Kira Nerys (from the alternate dimension), Jadzia Dax, Ezri Dax (it's a paradox, i know) and Tal Celes. We have no way to communicate to the exterior, no way to leave the station. The only things that work are the food replicators. So, me and Seven and Kes and the twins and T'pol and Hoshi and Kira and Jadzia and Ezri and Tal have absolutely nothing to do, except........ .

Maybe this would be better under a fantasies thread.

To add to this, Saavik saved Spock from the pon farr in TSFS and refused to return with them in TVH. So I reckon she was pregnant with Spock's baby and didn't want to tell him. So maybe Kirk's son could get together with Spock's daughter (I'm assuming daughter here). Imagine Kirk and Spock as father-in-laws?

You know, I get the impression that the books of the movies are, like, taken straight from the original unrevised script, expanding on the ideas therein. Of course the movies had to be cut because of time constraints. But even in the movie, it's only a subtle suggestion, but you can see that David and Saavik have a major Jones for each other. And in the book of The Search For Spock it pretty much says flat out that they had sex. So I'm kind of in agreement with why she stayed behind on Vulcan. Although she didn't really refuse to go back. She offered to go with, but Kirk told her stay. Anyway, what if she was already pregnant when she was on Genesis and she didn't know it yet? What if it was David's baby? And as far as Saavik goes, she's half Romulan. We know that in "The Enterprise Incident" Spock got it on with the Romulan commander. And at the end didn't he tell her that he hoped they'd exchanged something "more permanent"? What if she got knocked up? What if Saavik is her baby? Which would mean that Spock would be her father. And because she chose not to take the test that would have told her who her Vulcan family was, she doesn't know it. Now that would definitely make for some drama.

1. Finish Enteprise, come up with whatever story you will, set it sometime in the future when a new enterprise was created NX 1701 or w/e you will. Or involve a different ship at crew.

2. Have a series that goes back into the Delta Quadrant, Janeway never finished exploring the Delta Quadrant. With Seven of Nine's help, creat a transwarp conduit that sends them into the Delta Quadrant and finish exploring the areas that Janeway and her crew did not see.

3. Now that the dominion is no longer a threat, finish exploring the Gamma Quadrant.

4. Post Dominion war would be good

5. Enterprise B or Enterprise C. We have very little in terms of these ships and crews,  why not bring back the Enterprise B and have it take place after Kirk Disappears.

6. Starfleet Academy - Have a story about a group of students who go through the academy.

There are plenty of options for a new series, i think the problem is trying to get the $$$$ and ratings for a series to be put into production.

I do know this, if they come out with a new series i won't give up on it like i did Enterprise when i first watched it.

The line must be drawn here, this far no farther!

They could always reboot one of the series, i.e. have a series set 20 years into the future where a Federation space station has been built in place of DS9 and a crew leaves from the new station on a 5 year mission into the Gamma Quadrant through the worm hole.

I always what they could do is launch a series for other two major speiecs of the Alpha Quadrant (Romulans and Klingons).

I think it would be interesting to see the histories of these empires, the separation of Vulcan that led to the Romulans being created or w/e.

It just seems like they could so much with those races. The thing is im not sure how popular they would be.

I would like to see more of Star Trek Enterprise... Acquiring tech as they plod along to the Enterprise as we know it in the TNG series... A series that shows more of the wonders that exist in the universe, exploring like what they are supposed to be... Explorers... Giving it the feel, like we are at the helm, watching the wonders thru the massive screen in the bridge... off course a good story line, but more visual wonders of the universe and less of the boring ship's interior... and less useless small talk... Enterprise the series was pretty good for that, so lets get it back with more space visuals, like galaxies, nebulas, supernovas, black holes, etc etc

I'm willing to watch just about anything they come up with -- all ideas have the potential to be either good or downright horrible. Some I don't want to see however would be an Academy series, or a Klingon series. (Occasional Klingon episodes are good, but an entire Klingon series might wear a little on anyone who was not mainly a Klingon fan.)

If I were to pitch something though, I would like to see a series set -- say -- 20 years after the Dominion War, incorporating many different cultures as usual. Either that, or perhaps something at the turn of the 24th / beginning of the 25th century. It does not have to acknowledge the JJ-verse, as that is really only an alternate timeline.

Something else that might be interesting might be perhaps during the decline of the Federation, at some point in its future, as history teaches us that all large institutions must eventually decline.

More Enterprise would have been good, but methinks unfortunately that that proverbial ship has sailed.

It surprised me to have discovered that they are actually from the Beta Quadrant.

Valid points, but i also think that Star Trek could also explore more of the name "Enterprise". We don't know really anything about the Enterprise B or Enterprise C unless you read the books and it just seems like there is so much there to create a show based on one of those ships.

There's also the gap between Enterprise and TOS and also the federator with the Enterprise E following Star Trek Nemesis.

You could cast a crew that takes over the Enterprise after Picard becomes an admiral or retries(he could have a small cameo in the first episode) and it could take place in the post dominion era.

There are plenty of options out there, they just need the $$$ and they need the ratings to go up based on the reboot movies from JJ Abrams.

I now some trekkies are not a fan of the re-boot but if we want Star Trek back on TV, we have to sacrifice as fans.

I have an idea for a new show STAR TREK “RENAGADE” is set after Voyager returns and is about a crew of a decommissioning station on the outer edge of the Federation. The Commander in charge is highly decorated, but has been passed over for Captain many times as he is a brake glass in case of war type who worked in Starfleet Intelligence and Tactical and fines it hard to work to the status quo. His crew are rejects from all over Starfleet on their last chance before their service is terminated to make his job harder. The Admiral for his sector wants to shut him down and kick them all out. The Stations task is to collect wreckage from battle sites from the Dominion War or any other hazards area in space. They have the USS Bozeman which was decommissioned after the war, she was refitted after being found by the Enterprise and put back into service for the war. She is used to collect the wreckage but the Commander has had the crew modify the ship with items collected. The crew has collected technology from all side of the War and have collect Borg tech as well. The Commander gets no assistance from the Admiral in his forgotten station and therefore he has fitted the Soyuz starship with a number of modification that are outside the Federation rules just like the Commander likes it, but the Admiral finally gets his way and all the crew are given termination notices. The Commander snaps and takes the ship with all her secrets and asks the crew to join him, he tells them they will help anyone who needs it regardless of the almighty Prime Directive and his crew are loyal as he has made them the best they can be. This starts the Federation on a mission to track them down, as Starfleet Intelligences know about the work done on the station to integrate other technologies into a Starfleet ship and can’t let it fall into enemy hands. Leaked Intel now has everyone else want a piece of that ship too, so no borders are safe and it becomes a daily task to survive attacks from every side.
