>Actually, there were several episodes throughout the series in which they played around with his resilience, seeming to kill him off only to have him reset, with or without any help. It got to the point that when I was in a MST3K kind of mood, watching old epsodes, I would say "Oh my God, they killed Data!" (change voice) "you bastards!"

LOL! I'm only halfway into Season 3, but it's already happened twice--the other instance in "The Ensigns of Command." While it may be an indication of my own simplemindedness, it's gotten me every time!
I'm a noob...don't hurt me!

In "The Most Toys" something very interesting happens with Data in the last Two sequences. Data is faced with a moral and ethic dilemma over whether to kill Fajo, who is taunting him. We see when he's being transported that his weapon has discharged and when Riker asks him about it he says something must have occured during transport.
So did Data fire and then lie to Riker?
Then Data goes to see Fajo in the brig and Fajo asks him if he feels satisfied now that he's the captive and with a fabulous expression Data says no, I feel nothing, I am only an andriod.
To me these are the first examples of Data having real emotions.
It is one of the great Data episodes and has one of the best guests, Paul Rubinek.

"A Fist Full of Datas" is one of my favorite episodes.
However, as far as favorite moment goes, I'd have to say it's the part in "The Naked Now" where Date informs Yar that he has a variety of pleasuring programs. I wonder how that programing went.
"Let's see...We'll give him the ability to understand and perform calculus, chemistry and pleasure."

I agree with [101] about a Fistful of Datas, I love that episode and watching Brent Spiner do all those characters but as Data is great.
Something about how "Hollander"(data) shouts "Eli" in that stern western type of bad guy way always makes me smile.
Are you sure it isn't time for a colorful metaphor?

Brent Spiner is a great character actor. If only his talent was more appreciated outside of the Trek community...
