Well , what you have mentioned is interesting , but why would it be important for it to be canon ? Canon is a very elusive constraint in the Star Trek World . Many trekkies believe that the only Canon are the Movies , while some believe the Series are as well . And also , does Canon extend to include the novels , comics and video games of star trek ? Memory Beta believes that !

You sound like those people that say that TAS is canon because they reference something in both a TAS and canon episode.

First, this is a dream, so nothing in it is happening.

Second, even if it was happening, he's writing a story, not relaying events.

Third, Seeing a small passage does not mean the entire thing is written up there.
