Omitted Nick Meyer and Harve Bennett in last one. I have split Rick Berman into several segments as different showrunners under his watch.

Who do you think was the most influential?

I feel Gene Roddenberry, Gene L. Coon and Bob Justman represent the most important era as they set the trend for what was to come.

However a lot of my fav Trek would fall under Berman with Piller, Ira Behr and Ron D Moore.

IMHO, the obvious choice would be Roddenberry and company. After all, he created ST and he and his team made history with that little show. If they had failed, none of us would be here.

Roddenberry and Berman gave us the very best that STAR TREK has on offer.

That's my favorite DREAM TEAM, because THE NEXT GENERATION has it all ...

Gene Roddenberry, Gene L. Coon, Bob Justman, they created everything we know that was to carry thru all of Star Trek.

Sure, the other show's many have had a broader audiance availible, with better bugets and even longevity on TV,  but it still and always will be Star Trek TOS that will remain at the top and be the most remembered.

As far as having to divide Rick Berman into several segments, that only goes to show you, the more you over take the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain. No matter how you cut the cake, Berman didn't create any thing that already was in place or used from TOS and TAS!!!!

Manny Coto may have showed hoped, but by that time I with millions of others were already fed up with what Star Trek had become....namely BORING.

It is unknown where JJ Abrams, Bob Orci and Alex Kurtzman stand, since it's only been one vey successful film that has sparked new life into Star Trek. We will have to wait and see.

So if there's any one out there trying to glorify Berman and his watch, forget it, it'll never happen no matter how much you bend over and let the sun shine in.

P.S.  Since this poll incorperates both TV and motion pictures, it really should be in a more general StarTrek, com forum (since Coto and a few others had nothing to do with any of the movies)

I'm agreeing with some of the above comments: Although several of those others did great things reviving (and changing) Trek, and while I don't entirely agree with some of the original series' ideas or representations, without Roddenberry and Co. there wouldn't be much to discuss on these boards.

So, thanks, Roddenberry and Co. If it weren't for you guys I would have a life!

j/k -- Star Trek rocks.

Well it has  to be Roddenberry, Coon, and Justman simply because they set the bar for what ST should be.

Justman was also involved with ST:TNG for a while. I think that you have to credit the actors and writers as well. TNG brought Star Trek back to TV. TOS actors had the fims going for some time before TNG. I think if you look at Trek as a whole, rather than seperate parts, you will see that it is strong in many more ways with some fair and weak moments.
