>It's actually the first time I can recall seeing Alan Rickman and it was love at first sight. Not with him- just his voice...and his characters. He's absolutely brilliant.

I saw Alan Rickman for the first time as Mr Slope in The Barchester Chronicles -- when he was significantly younger and not yet famous in Hollywood... He was sooo deliciously sleazy in that role!! I love him in everything, even bad movies. He's great.

Have you ever danced with a Tribble in the pale moonlight?

I used to be friends with the writer (David Howard) (I guess still am, I just have not seen him in years!), and was there around him when this movie came out.  I can tell you two things about it that should answer some questions on this board.  First, he got the idea from an IMAX movie he took his kids to see.  The film was narrated by Lenard Nimoy, and after the film, he started wondering what life must be like for him or any of the TOS actors, who like most actors, only wanted to be taken seriously in thier craft, after doing something like "Star Trek."  The rest just came from that.

As for a sequel, I seriously doubt it will happen, but you never know.  It was his first (and currently only) Hollywood film credit, and he almost didn't even get that much.  I don't know all the issues behind it all, but I do know that situations are such, I doubt he'd get the chance, as in I don't think the sduio would let him.  Now, it is possible Dreamworks might revise it without him down the road, but a lot of me hopes not.  I actually tried to get my friend to submit a script for "Enterprise" when it was on the air.  To the point that I taped the first few seasons in their entirety and then sent them to him so he'd be caught up.  Sadly, it never happened, he was just too busy at the time working on other things. Oh well.
