OK so I got this on blu-ray today. I really love this show and would have watched this if it was a real TV show. I was just wondering if anyone else considers the crew of the NSEA Protector as an honorary Trek crew? NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER SURRENDER!

Are you sure it isn't time for a colorful metaphor?

This is, without a doubt, my favorite Star Trek movie. Many, many years ago I read a couple of short stories, fan fiction, that put the ST crew/cast in that situation. I've often wondered if they were the insperation for GQ.

I can envision the original cast doing that movie as a ST flick.

Yeah that would've been pretty awesome if they used the cast of Galaxy Quest to do a new Trek series, that would be epic!

What's funny is if you take out the fact that they are actors in a comedy the actual plot of the "crew" helping an oppressed race of scientists would actually make a pretty good Star Trek film.

But it wouldn't be consistent with the rest of trek.

This movie is pure genius. I only wish they had made a sequel; I would have liked to seen what happened to the Thermians as well as giving the Galaxy Quest fans from the first film a chance to serve aboard the NSEA protector. While the first film was more about the actors being in space for real, the sequel can be about FANBOYS IN SPACE!

I love this movie! I have it on blu ray. I saw it when it came out in theaters. Would love to see a sequel. But it would be really fun to see the TOS or TNG cast in a simular movie.

I bet the TNG cast would be up to it. They spoofed themselves in Family quite well.
