Phlox.  He had the best bedside manner, even if he wasn't sure who he was treating...as seen in "Two Days and Two Nights".

Bashir or the EMH?  What's the difference?  A machine is a machine.  DS9 was fine without another Data (Behold, I am faster, stronger and smarter than you silly humans!), then they had to make Julie a superhuman.

Apparently Dralek is NOT a Bashir fan!

At least JULIAN has you and me, O-Jo!

No, I like Bashir.  "Our Man Bashir" was one of my favorite DS9 episodes.  I just didn't care for the superhuman twist that was written into Julie's character later.  I guess I prefer flawed characters, humans who have shortcomings over those who are genetically designed to be better and have to "struggle" to be normal.

That's part of the reason I use in saying Superman was not a hero.  Stepping in front of a bullet that cannot hurt you is not heroism.

Of course, most of the reason I've written what I have was to get you gals to twist your knickers.  I'm a bad person, but I enjoy it.

Yeah. It's like O'Brien said, genetic engineering can't create those things which make a person human.

And no machine would look half as funky in a raccoon hat. (Sorry I can't embed pics in here -- too buggy.)

I don't think it makes him any less "real", either. On the contrary -- that revelation not only gave him a backstory, but kind of explained in a way why he had revealed so little of his previous life to anyone before that time.
