I've watched a few episodes in the past, but now that it's available on Netflix, I plan to take full advantage... I thought most of the episode plots were actually slated for Star Trek Phase II, so they were developed fully and not necessarily for children.

I think TAS is great. It has realy interesting plots, new species.. I only wish the episodes would be longer, becouse some scenes are just too short to show the whole dramatic feeling. But it was made more for children so it's okay. I like this series very much and I think you don't have to be a cartoon fan.. Just a Star Trek fan

Yeah it's worth watching! But, keep in mind that the animaion is a little on the weak side. But, generally the shows are good, the stories are interesting, and it's a fun sereies to watch. Keep in mind, that it's no where near as good as TOS is. But, if you enjoyed TOS, you'll enjoy TAS.

If you count two episodes (Yesteryear and More Tribbles, More Trouble), then yes.

You should just watch it, period.
Don't consider it a Season 4 though because some elements of TAS have been established as non canonical, such as the Bonaventure Class. And that Earth-Kzin War has always been a problem.

Exactly. But it does have some creative ideas and is the origin of many elements that latter became part of the canon universe. Besides, watching it is free and doesn't take long.

I bought the animated series and was amazed at how much I enjoyed it. I used to watch it when I was a kid but I couldn't remember very much about it other than a few mental flashes from it. I think it is a worthy addition to anyone who loves Star Trek. My 6 year old daughter also enjoys it!

I enjoyed it, especially the episode about Spock's childhood.

I think everyone remembers that one. I remember it for the Andorian/Aenar commander though.

I love TAS, more so now than when I was a kid.
The animation, while limited is still better than a lot of the cartoons that were around at the same time. Planet of the Apes for example.

Taking into consideration the limited technology available for doing animated stuff at the time, it's very well done. Even though it's not live action, it still puts you right there. And even as a cartoon, Spock still has a nice butt.

Just thought i'd provide a few early thoughts - I've only watched two episodes 'Farthest Star' and 'More Trouble with Tribbles' and i must say i really enjoyed both of them - having the original actors doing the voices really gives it that authentic touch, and i actually think the animation is done in a 'classic' comic book style that makes it really watchable, as well as enabling them to give us more spaceships etc relatively easily.
It's something that i'm sure kids would enjoy but is close enough to the original for adults to appreciate also.
It's already enough for me to vote 'Yes' to watching it - i really got into it and am really looking forward to watching the rest.
Just one question - does the alien helmsman ever say anything or did they make him an alien so they didn't have to give him lines?

I've seen two episodes: More Tribbles, More Troubles and Yesteryear. Both were awesome and now that TAS is streaming on Netflix, I'm hoping that I'll get the time to watch all of them.
