I didn't really like Tasha. I was between glad and indifferent. (I had, though, watched some 1st season episodes before that one, and then some 2nd, 3rd, etc. season episodes before seeing that one.)

I cried the first time I watched it. But once she was gone, I realized how much I really didn't care. Yup.

I didn't give much of a poo....then again I never really liked her.

Too...cold and boring. The character had potential but, it lacked anything to make her...spark, for me.

Part of it might have been the hair.

For me, I think the saddest part of Yar's death is not that she died--the aftermath of her death (, funeral, Enterprise-C incident, etc.) was more memorable than the death itself--but that, as written, her death was senseless. It didn't provoke a moral delema, provide for enhanced drama, or furthered the story in any way, except to write Crosby out.  She could have just as easily been transferred to another ship with better effectiveness.

It's not that she died, or even how... rather WHY that is sad.

Cried eyes out.  Hated it.  Understood that she wanted out but it was hard,  She was the character I connected with early in season 1.  Became a fan of Dr. Crusher for the rest of the season and then she was gone but fortunately she was invited back!

I was happy she died, could almost not stand her.

-I never realised yout thought of me as reckless, Tuvok. -A poor choice of words. It was clearly an understatement.

Wooo! She's dead! Couldn't stand her.

Ahh, Kirk, my old friend. Do you know the Klingon proverb which tells us revenge is a dish that is best served cold? It's very cold....in space.

I was bummed out.  She was my favorite from the get-go and I was looking forward to more awesome stories with her.  Just watched "Encounter at Farpoint" on Blu-ray the other day and said "Man, it sucks Yar had to die. Imagine all the cool stuff they could've done with her character."  My boyfriend pointed out that because of her death she got "Yesterday's Enterprise" which is regarded one of the best episodes. But it's only one of the best episodes because Yar's back!  But yeah, I agree with you, it was sad.  Especially when she gives her little speeches about everyone!

I just re-watched this episode, and I won't lie, I was a bit sad, mostly because I think Tasha had potential. And I was sad for Data, of course.

I was blown away. I think it was cool the way they did it because it was so unexpected. When Crusher said she was dead to Picard I couldn't believe it. Having said that I was super bummed out when it happened but I couldn't see Worf as just relief con and tactical officer. I liked him as acting security chief alot more but I did miss what Yar brought to the team.

I was a bit sad, but wasn't crying my eyes out. Her character was probably the one that I liked the least, simply because she seemed so serious all the time. It's unfortunate that Denise Crosby decided to leave in the first season of TNG so she could make time for other acting opportunities...I'm pretty sure she regrets doing that. It was kind of interesting that she was the one who hosted the Trekkies movies.

I kind of hoped that she and Worf would be the first "love" story at some point.

It was a necessary event. Without this warfs character may not have had the opportunity to advance as it did.
