Sisko, hands down.

The night I first started watching DS9 I was in a pretty foul mood and that first episode just made everything better, the way he handled Jake was hilarious and effective, that is, the mocking and tough love attitude. And throughout the series he continued to be my favorite, he was quite a bit like Picard in many ways (I do not speak of the lack of hair,) who was my favorite from TNG. There is a great bit when he says something about it is easy to be a saint in heaven, heaven being Earth and surrounding areas, while out there on the edge of Bajoran space it wasn't quite so easy, that the same rules couldn't apply. I could go on but I shall not.

Garak.  He was such a great bastard, such a sarcastic wit, yet dangerous underneath.  Not a nice man, and yet the Federation had to keep asking him for favors.

And Kira was great.  I like how she's smart and tough and has a temper, and yet also has a strong religious side.  If I had to get through a firefight, she'd be the one I'd want at my side.  Worf and the other Starfleet crew learned to fight in holosuites.  Not the same as learning by doing every day for 16 years.  And she wouldn't let fighting dirty bother her.

Dax, Worf. Quark. Rom. Nog. Jake, Captan Sisko Odo, Kira, Miles  they are all good lol  

Jadzia Dax. She's lovely.

Jake, Nog, Quark, Rom, Leeta, Odo, jadza, Worf, Odo, Kira, bashir and more others  

I agree, Odo and Kira changed throughout the series, their characters were complex and they worked out difficult issues, BUT, Jadzia Dax is my favorite character: the many lives she had being joined and her relationship with Worf, all fun and interesting.

A really difficult choice. I guess my favorite would be a five way tie between Sisko, Odo, Garak, Bashir, and Vic Fontaine. And Jadzia Dax and Quark make a close second.
