I would love to reply to one of the above, but alas I haven't read a one. I recently finished Michio Kaku's Physics of the Impossible (he's such a kooky cool character, his enthusiasm and optimism is just infectious and I love listening to him speak even more than reading him). I'm currently working on The Making of Star Wars -- an EXCELLENT read if you are a fan of Star Wars or filmmaking.

I would love to read some of Kaku's work -- I've heard he has some interesting things to say, and also that he has an interest in UFOs.

He is well studied and has a lot to say that trekkies who like imagining the future like to hear and think about. Sometimes it's easy to get a bit skeptical because his optimism essentially lets him forget some practical components in his equations, but we like Star Trek right -- unless someone can say with certainty that something is absolutely impossible (which we cannot say about much anything within our frame of reference and understanding of the universe), then hell, we'll dream about it =) I think he's well worth the read, his books aren't too long, and he makes the physics really accessible.

Cool. I like that he likes esoteric things like Ufology (which I'm sure a lot of scientists must secretly do) And being one of those who gets a little bored by the Maths involved in hardcore Physics but is still interested in the discoveries and conclusions, it's great when someone is able to make such things accessible. I shall add Michio Kaku's work to my mental list of "stuff to get and read".

Good for you, Molly. Only one problem: There is no such book. XD It's Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

Just finished reading Undiscovered Country for the third time. It's amazing what things you can miss, even after seeing the movie and reading the book multiple times!
The non-series book that I just finished reading was I Am Spock. Absolutely loved it, thank you to the friend that recommended it!!
The last non-Trek book that I read was... I don't know. XD
