I believe that there should be a whole section of just fan fiction stuff like videos and pics. I would be on it actively.

Don't forget stories.  The thing is, if it's posted here, I'd think that CBS would then own the rights to it and could publish it without the creator's permission or compensating the creator.

Not a bad idea. It would be slow to move into action, but as I said, not a bad idea. There are sites everywhere that host a plethora of Star Trek fanfic stories... why not have a home base, right here, on the main Star Trek site? 

Though, as Bam Bam pointed out, publishing rights could be an issue.

Another issue with the whole "Don't ask, don't tell" attitude that the franchise owners tend to adopt in the case of fanfiction. Compensation may not be a huge issue as fanfiction is / was never meant to make money for the writers anyway.

Although if the powers that be did decide to put something up, I for one would fully support it. It's unlikely to happen however. By the way, you can already put pics/fanart up through the photo uploader -- (I did.)
